Your movies should be in MP4 format for streaming to both smart tvs and Roku. You need no app to stream them to the smart tv, but Roku needs the Roku media player app/channel installed. to conver to MP4 you need to use a free program installed on you Windows or Mac computer called Handbrake. Google info about all this and check your smart tv user manual. Now, go do your homework.

I'm in the market to buy 3 streaming devices and I'd like to buy something that has storage for downloading movies and shows for offline viewing. My 3 TVs are in a camper and it gets used in rural areas with limited to no internet signal sometimes. Do any Roku devices have the ability to store movies and shows for offline viewing, and if so, what should I look for when purchasing?

How To Download Movies On Roku Tv

I see a lot of excuses in that reply. Devices have had the ability to not only use MicroSD cards for quite some time, but the ability to have large amounts of internal storage. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks there's merit to devices, like Roku sticks, offering one or both of these options. People should be able to (and strongly encouraged to) download entire seasons or series of shows, as well as music playlists, for offline use. Not only are internet speed slow in many areas, requiring all users stream their videos as they're watching them makes the situation much worse (because you get the entire block streaming at the same time every day, thus slowing down the internet for others), when they could have downloaded non-live shows and movies in the middle of the night automatically if companies like Roku implemented this relatively basic features. Offline viewing and listing has been around elsewhere for years and there's no legit reason your company, and companies like yours, couldn't "design" devices that do operate that way. Just because you haven't "designed" or "manufacturered" such a product yet, doesn't mean it's not the better idea. I was selling DVRs with large internal storage drives, capable of storing a ton of footage, back in the early 2000's. Why everyone these days seems to think streaming everything is the greatest idea since sliced bread should take a few more computer classes and realize that in most cases, offline data storage has many huge advantages over streaming. Not least of which is freeing up bandwidth so that other in your household, as well as others in your neighborhood, can do things that actually require streaming (especially during peak hours), like gaming, video conferencing, and watching live TV. Requiring that everyone streams everything only drives up internet prices (because of higher demand for faster speeds), but often times completely surely screwes up incredibly important video calls between family and/or friends world-wide because you're not offering solutions that are half as efficient as they should be. Not only should the norm be that you can download media offline (music and video) but that you can download it to a network storage drive where you can everything stored on it to any of your devices at any time. The only reason it's is not the must-have tech device of the year this holiday season is because companies like yours refuse to make it, for no good reason!

Anybody else have this happen to them? When playing movies rented from youtube, the reds are always way too saturated. I used to be able to cast from my phone and that would solve the problem, but my phone doesn't cast from YouTube to roku anymore from some reason. Experienced on 3 different tcl roku TVs, and only an issue with youtube movies

I was not able to do that. I'm using the Roku Channel as a streaming service on my PC and really watch it mostly through my webbrowser.

But I finally decided to delete my Roku account, so I unsubscribed Hallmark movies first, deleted my account and made a new one, with the same e-mail address and that did the trick. I subscribed to Hallmark movies again and now it is working as it should.

Thanks for the reply though.

Discover the perplexing enigma that has befallen the realm of Hallmark Movies Now! While Hallmark live streams enchant effortlessly, an elusive conundrum arises when attempting to indulge in the movies, for they whimsically return to the play options. Though subscriptions remain steadfast and diligent troubleshooting ensues, the predicament persists solely within the Hallmark Movies Now domain. Seek solace, for others may traverse this labyrinthine challenge.

I'm in a hotel long-term where I often can't use the wifi. Can I use my phone's bluetooth to stream video/movies instead of wifi? I was going to buy a Roku Ultra because I can't afford enough data to stream from a hotspot but only see bluetooth used for audio mentioned. I'll have to find another type of streaming device if this isn't possible. (It would be silly to have bluetooth but not be able to use it for the most obvious and basic functions.)

Thank you for checking. The description states "bluetooth streaming", which is why I spent $100 on it when I already had a roku. It's blatent false advertising because no one would think a streaming device that advertises "bluetooth streaming" won't stream in the common use of the word. Even if they knew that, it's still a lie because it won't bluetooth anything except audio, and won't even do that unless you purchase bluetooth speakers! When the competition does have real bluetooth streaming it's rediculous to have it but not have it perform basic functions.

I researched a little and exchanged for the Chromecast with Google TV for $50. It's supposed to work with bluetooth only as well as screen mirroring and tethering. The only thing I didn't check is if it'll work with the hotel's captive portal. Ill explain for people who search that function- it's a wifi sign in page hotels use that keeps devices that can't enter a password, like my Echo, from connecting. The Express and Ultra roku's have dorm/hotel connect. To use it you sign your phone onto the roku signal in your wifi list and it brings up the hotel's portal site on your phone. You sign in as usual and the roku is on wifi through your phone.

I very much wish we could truly set the default tab for users and have it apply across devices. My mom, for example, just can't seem to figure it out and complains about all of the "extra" steps to get to the movies or TV tab (or folders tab for mixed content). Doesn't help that I have ~30 libraries, though. That's a lot of legwork for a typical user.

Actually, the Roku has been my favorite Emby client. It plays well and navigation has been good. Apple TV still does not show the Alphabet on the side of the screen for quick access to movies which is frustrating. What is everyone else's favorite Emby client?

I was so excited when I found this channel ( I was looking for The Wall ). There are so many great movies about amazing bands, but I was especially interested in Pink Floyd.

I should have known it was too good to be true. Nothing works

Grant is superbly played by Michael B. Jordan in what now counts as one of his breakthrough roles, when many only knew him as Wallace in the now-legendary crime drama The Wire. Director Ryan Coogler went on making two more movies with him, including Black Panther in 2018.

Not only does the channel feature over 200 hours of Christmas movies but there is also an option to play a yule log on your TV with Christmas music and there are 10 live channels to cozy up on the couch and scroll through.

We've paid for enough movies recently, so we're happy to see Roku's added 27 free movies to The Roku Channel for January 2023, along with two TV shows. And this is much better news than we've seen with the recent new Roku channels, because these movies tell stories across an impressively wide range of genres. Of course, Roku's able to give these movies away for free because they're ad-supported.

Roku announced these new movies on Sunday (January 1). While this set includes at least one out-and-out stinker (2018's Gotti starring John Travolta holds a rare 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes), you'll find some very good movies, too.

The Roku Channel added 27 new movies back in January, including Back to the Future, Taxi Driver, and Hook. Another 29 movies will join the library in February. Some highlights are American Hustle, Moneyball, The Hurt Locker, and Punch-Drunk Love.

In addition to on-demand movies and shows, The Roku Channel also features a number of live channels. These include ABC News Live, Family Feud, Real Crime, Fubo Sports Network, Movie Favorites by Lifetime, and WeatherNation. 6190a8d2fd
