I've taken my Kindle Fire on several European trips (Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, Munich, Salzburg) and had no problems whatsoever using email. I've also purchased movies from amazon.com (Midnight in Paris!) with no problems. You will just need to connect to the local wifi and you'll be fine. I've never used it on the plane, as I'm usually watching the shows the airlines provides or sleeping!

Ever since I downloaded a couple of movies for a flight to LHR, then found out the two I had on my Kindle Fire were playing for free on the airplane I just watch the free stuff on the plane. As an aside, we once fell for the "Free" WiFi at a hotel in the UK only to find out that the WiFi company was named "Free WiFi" and it was NOT free at the hotel. Just another gotcha while traveling. It's just part of the adventure.

How To Download Movies To Kindle Fire To Watch On Airplane

A Kindle is just a fancy Android tablet, and mine worked just fine in France and Switzerland. As noted, if you try and use Amazon Prime to watch TV shows while you're over there you will probably be geo-blocked. And perhaps movies too. So download what you need before you leave (books too) and then they'll be on the device and you won't need wifi.

Solid Internet connections aren't available everywhere. If you want to watch streaming movies and TV shows on an airplane, on the subway, or somewhere out in the wilderness away from cellular towers, you can download them ahead of time.

Lastly, if you have movies or TV shows on physical DVD or Blu-ray discs, you can "rip" them to digital video files you can more easily take with you. Store these files on a laptop, smartphone, or tablet and you can watch them without taking the disc with you.

On the adult side, you can download apps like Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, etc. On any of those apps (or apps like Amazon Prime), you will need to download the movies or episodes that you want them to watch (in the apps, there are little down pointing arrows next to the items).

The exception: Owners of Amazon Fire tablets can download some Prime Video shows and movies for offline viewing. That's a great option if you're about to get on an airplane, or you're headed somewhere that doesn't have Wi-Fi.

If you tap the Library icon, it might not be immediately clear which videos you've actually downloaded and which are simply part of your library. And that's a hassle if you're looking to free up space by erasing stuff you've watched. Fortunately, all you have to do is tap Refine, then select On Device. Now you'll see only the local (i.e. downloaded) movies and shows.

Many of us travel by plane for business trips and watching movies is a great way to pass the time on long flights. Google Play Movies has proven to be the best way for me to rent and download video content to my iOS and Android devices in the past, but Amazon just announced Prime Video offline content support.

iTunes severely limits what devices you can play movies on and in my experience Google Play Movies offers the best option for renting or purchasing movies and then watching them offline. Amazon currently offers offline movie and TV content to Amazon Fire device owners, but is now expanding to support iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Android tablets.

While you can purchase or rent content to watch on these devices with Amazon Prime Video, you can also now download movies and TV shows for free with a Prime subscription. This support just bumped Amazon to the top of my list for video content when I travel for work.

Hulu is a juggernaut when it comes to serving up your favorite shows and movies. One of the biggest advantages Hulu has over other giants like Netflix is that you can often watch new network TV episodes the day after they air. Netflix only streams complete seasons once the final episode airs and only does so after securing the rights.

Netflix added offline storage within the last year, but I haven't really heard many people talking about it. Keeping your shows stored offline will allow you to watch them when you don't have a Wi-Fi or cellular connection, like on an underground train, on an airplane (the Wi-Fi on planes still largely blocks streaming services) or out in the woods on a camping trip.

Can you watch downloaded Disney Plus movies offline? Absolutely. Will they automatically be viewed in high-definition? Not necessarily. Disney Plus automatically selects a standard quality for downloading videos.

If you're planning to use the Fire HD 10 for watching movies or listening to music (parent-approved, of course), you'll be pleased with the quality of both the sound and the picture. And if your child is partial to art and design apps, they will be very happy with the crisp, bright colors of the display.

Disney+ subscribers have access to unlimited downloads of shows and movies (hello, "Lizzie Mcguire" and "Freaky Friday"). All you have to do is download the app and your selected titles while you are still connected to Wi-Fi before boarding your flight. This will work on up to 10 mobile or tablet devices. Once your favorite content has been downloaded, you can watch on-the-go without internet connection. You'll be able to find your downloads by tapping on the downloads icon on the bottom menu of the app, which will store all of your saved movies and shows.

There are dozens of films about firefighters and firefighting, including many documentaries, silent movies and comedies. In other words, as long as movies have been made, firefighting has been one of the subjects. e24fc04721
