It felt like there has been a lot of great planet packs that go under the radar. So I wanted to start a thread of notable planet packs. Feel free to nominate ones here. I'll make a list and edit this post soon.

Edit:

Found some planet information here in BUNDLE Files. You can open them with a text editor.

Some information is Encrypted, but not most the planet characteristics I was looking for!

Anyone with the game can follow this path and open it in a text editor to get a planet's sim info (If you do it corrupts the file, but that's a quick fix by Verifying the integrity of game files in steam, saving the document with/without changes also breaks the game. #readonly):

That's the problem of course I don't have the game. I want to know how much I can easily change with a couple simple to use utilities and a text editor. i.e., without needing to know how to write full-on Unity mods that hack code into programs not expecting it... BEFORE buying the game.

I'm looking for information like "Yeah you just unpack the file with xyz-unpacker, and the tilt angle, rotation rate, orbital parameters, they're all there in zyx-planets.cfg as just numbers that you can change. Once you're done, re-package the files using xyz-repacker and run the game!"

After trying the base game, it's clear that being thrown into trying to defend 30 or so planets at once isn't going well for me. However, I have heard that many mods have one planet starts, which mods would they be? Thank you.

Modding is made easy with the use of Steam Workshop, but there are other ways to obtain mods as well. Most of Planet Zoo's existing mods won't make the game easier or provide advantages but are instead made to give players more options when it comes to designing their dream zoo. The game may be in the management genre, but the designing aspect of it is a calming and exciting one as well.

There's plenty of mods to choose from, but Planet Zoo also offers up to seven different DLC's. These DLC's provide up to five new animals each, new maps, and over 210 new structures each. They are aimed to take a look at other parts of the world, at animals and climates North American's don't know enough about.

Planet Zoo has Steam Workshop support. If you own the game on Steam instead of another platform, this is the absolute easiest way to apply mods. By going to the game in your Steam Library, there will be multiple headings under the Play button such as Store, Discussions, and Workshop. Another way to get to the Steam Workshop page is to hover over the Community tab in Steam and click Workshop, then search for Planet Zoo.

To download mods from the Workshop, all you have to do is find something you like and then press Subscribe. The moment you subscribe to a mod using Steam Workshop, it's instantly installed into your game. It only takes one second for Steam to access the correct Planet Zoo files and enable any Workshop mods available.

The most popular mods on Steam Workshop are habitats. Modders create unique habitats and stores for different themes and animals. These can be animal structures made for different species' specific needs like climbing, pretty kiosks for customer use, or extravagant decorations for all-around use.

Getting your Planet Zoo mods from Nexus Mods takes a little bit more work. It's not an instant connection to your copy of the game. Instead, you have to manually place mod files into the Planet Zoo files on your computer to get everything to work.

Most mods for Planet Zoo on Nexus Mods are new animal species. It will be hard to do anything else, as this is where animal mods are most frequent as opposed to large structures from Steam Workshop. If you have a favorite type of animal that isn't in Planet Zoo or that you need to purchase DLC for, Nexus Mods has got your back.

Hello everyone.

I've never been a huge fan of mini games in almost every game ... Cyperpunk, skyrim, mass effect ... I just hate them lol.

And lets admit Beth is a serious competitors in the most boring mini games category ... So this time I'm looking for something to take care of the painful planetary scans. I mean the one when you are in your ship, map opened with the star and planets.

You must know the hell sequence,

scan a planet > zoom in (even worse) > zoom out repeat .... I haven't found anything yet, do you know if some mod able to one shot or improve these scans exist ?

Thank you for help

We are in our ship, map opened as you can see on the screen shot. From there, I want to scan each planets of the system (shortcut = key A). After I press A for a second or so, the game zooms in, making the process awful. Then I press TAB to zoom out and after that A to scan the second planet etc. ZZZzzzZZZ and I'm dying lol

In my experience if you're not close enough to the planet/moon then "Scan Unavailable" will be there and you won't be able to scan the planet/moon until you get closer to it. I imagine it'll be necessary to have the Creation Kit before you can make a mod that removes the scanning distance limit such that you can scan the entire system at once.

I think the SE planets really needs ME planet touch. I love the textures, terrain with roads, and the landmarks they made and beautiful trees and plants they have. SE planets been around for such a long time I feel like they need to be updated. You could keep the old ones and make a new scenario with the new planets.

I feel like the planets are empty and need something to make it interesting. I use this PVE style mod =1284658378&searchtext=npc and I just love raiding these ships, looking at them while they fly past or if I feel like it hijack these ships and make it my own which is kinda hard but worth it! I think it would really make the planets feel a bit more alive with NPCs flying around.

Ground Drones Invasion: Requires Planetary Cargo Ships (Must be second in mod list to planetary cargo ships when loaded). IF YOU USE THIS, PREPARE TO DIE, A LOT. These drones will keep you on your toes, they will chase you, they will track you, they WILL FIND YOU. They use a variety of stages in their attacks. Scanning for the player with drones launched from capitol ships, parachuted radar devices, observation drones. Attacking with small grid fighters that parachute a variety of ground based attack vehicles. Small fighters that employ a variety of attack methods from circling your base and raining down mg and rocket fire, dropping turrets, firing tracking block missiles and even knowing to roll about if a player jumps aboard them. They will kill you many times and you'll often be forced to run early on. Another thing to note is that the large ships will come down to pursue you as well, but they occasionally crash into the ground (so be ready to delete a few large ships). 9af72c28ce
