In MyChart, go to Test results. Your provider may send you a message if they want to share their comments about test results with you. Some test results may not be viewable with the mobile app.

You may see results before your clinical team has reviewed them. You do not have to view those results; you may prefer to wait to discuss them with your provider. If you send a message about your results before your visit, your care team may wait to discuss your questions with you during the visit.

MyChart is a secure, online health management tool that connects Cleveland Clinic patients to portions of their electronic medical record allowing you to see test results, message your physician, schedule appointments and more.

While some people are happy to see results immediately, others may be uncomfortable or anxious seeing results before a provider can interpret and explain them. If you would prefer not to see your results at the same time they are sent to your provider, please let your provider know when the lab or test is ordered so that he or she can hold the results until you can be contacted.

Your MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your doctor's office. Ask your doctor to correct any inaccurate information at your next clinic visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit.

MyChart pulls information from the electronic medical record and gets updated after each visit you have with a Piedmont Healthcare provider. If you see incorrect information in MyChart, be sure to ask your provider to correct it at your next visit.

You can see most tests from your inpatient stays and emergency room visits at Strong Memorial, Highland and FFT hospitals, as well as those tests completed by a UR Medicine lab. In an effort to get your test results to you as soon as possible, many test results are available in MyChart the morning after they are finalized. This means that sometimes you'll see the results before your doctor; thank you in advance for your patience in allowing your physician time to communicate with you about your test results.

Pathology, pap smears, and many types of advanced imaging, and sensitive tests are released to MyChart seven days after the result is finalized. Note exceptions below for adolescents (ages 12-17) and genetic tests. As a reminder, MyChart proxys will be able to view all test results; you can review and/or change your settings.

When you visit a UR Medicine location (inpatient, outpatient, Urgent Care, emergency or lab) you will have instant access to your test results in MyChart. This means you may see results before your doctor; thank you in advance for your patience in allowing your physician time to communicate with you about your test results.

Since you are viewing the full, unedited results, some of the language may not be familiar to you and might even be confusing or concerning. Please discuss any questions raised by these results at your next visit when appropriate. For more urgent questions/concerns, please contact your doctor's office.

MyChart graph/trend reports are only available on those results conducted at a UR Medicine lab from Nov. 1, 2010 and on, as well as test results from inpatient stays or emergency room visits at Strong Memorial of Highland hospitals from Dec. 2013 and on.

Your MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record. In addition, by state law some test results cannot be released electronically until they have been discussed with the patient. For minors between the ages of 12-17, the patient themself must first have an active MyChart account. If a patient age 12-17 would like to request a MyChart account, they may sign up online or contact the MyChart Help Desk at 805-898-3333. Please note that the MyChart account request must be made by the 12-17 year-old patient. Once the patient has their own active MyChart account, they have the option to grant others proxy access from within their account. If you have questions about proxy access for patients age 12-17, please contact the MyChart Help Desk at 805-898-3333.

To help you stay as informed as possible, we send lab and test results when they are final, which may be before your provider has reviewed them. After your provider reviews your results, they may add comments or contact you directly. They may also wait for more tests or information before providing their opinion or recommendations for you. You can choose to view your results as soon as they are sent or wait to discuss your results with your provider. Please ask your provider when you should expect to hear from them regarding your lab or test results.

The doctor who ordered your imaging exam will provide the results. If there is a critical finding on your study, your doctor will be notified by our Radiologists. If you have not heard from your provider within a reasonable time, please call their office directly.

Sensitive information, such as tumor indicators or genetic results, is delayed 5 days to give the provider a chance to review it first. Once results are available in MyChart, families will receive an email notification.

Our MyChart patient portal offers you secure online access to manage your health. Using the patient portal you can schedule medical appointments, view test results, request prescription renewals, communicate with your care team, pay your bill, manage care for a loved one (proxy access) and more.

Lab results, imaging studies and pathology reports all release to MyChart. All outpatient lab results release automatically within 24 hours of being sent to your provider. Inpatient results release within 36 hours of being sent to your provider. Patients receive their results quickly because we know they are anxious to see them, but there may be times the patient will see the result before the provider has had the opportunity to review them. Please allow the provider time to review the results and send a comment.

Imaging studies and pathology reports release to the patient four days after being sent to the provider. This allows the provider more time to review the results and perhaps schedule time with the patient for a conversation in person.

Patients can chart and graph numerical test results to track their health improvement. Select a result and click on "View Historical Results." You can display your results as a chart, chart by date, or line and bar graph. 2351a5e196
