Hi folks, I have never used any Amazon products and looking forward to buying either Fire 8 or Fire 10 tablet primarily to watch movies. All my collection is in MKV format which I watch via VLC player on Mac or PS4.

It's not present in the product pages for the Fire OS 7 HD8 Plus and HD10 Plus tablets I still use. I keep checking androidpolice for updates for the GP sideloading directions. Nothing since May 2023. I haven't run Fire Toolbox yet, but have a feeling it's not going to resolve.

Hi there, 2017 Fire HD 10 user here, I've noticed that performance wise my tablet has been slower than usual. Does it have something to do with the fact that I have the Google Play Store on it? I think that I was clear on my installation process in my first post ... including the downloading and installation of Google Play Services (GPS) prior to using the Google Play Store to download and install the Hubitat Elevation app using the Google play store. I was thinking that as the Google Play Store was working I had Google Play Services loaded.

I just got the fire HD 10 2021 and it has OS version 7.3.2.2 and Fire Toolbox will not load new launcher. I did load the Play Store, and YouTube. Will I lose those whenever Amazon has a new update? There is no place in Settings to disable OTA updates. Thanks.

Hello I am also having the same problem, it works well on any other Android or iOS device, neither App nor Firmware updates on Cam and Fire Tablet helped in 6 months. Technical Support eversince told me told that they are working on it and that I have to wait for the next update. The only thing I have got working is using Alexa when I hear the Chime but the delay between giving the voice command and the display of the videosignal is abysmal. As far as I could see in the preferences for the App on the Fire Tablet we wont be able to set it correctly since some information are not displayed. So from my point of view it is blocked by amazon to strengthen their own devices.

If anyone else having a solution I really would appreciate to hear it.

You can't! It's not a supported device. Never has been. A year ago you could sideload the app to the device to get it to work. I had several 8" and 10" Fire HD tablets that I used. No longer does the sideloaded app work.
