I installed the Evernote for Gmail extension in order to archive the e-mails from my best friend on Evernote. We share quite a lot of letters, which sometimes include long threads of up to 20 e-mails. However, I noticed that if I want to export an e-mail, which is a part of a long thread of emails, to Evernote, only the last e-mail in a given thread gets exported. I mean e-mails which have the same titles. This is not what I wanted to achieve as I intended to archive all e-mails I received from my bestie on Evernote. Is there a way around it? There are two ways to configure the Google Workspace / Gmail mailer: Using the One-Click Setup or manually creating a custom Google app to generate your Client ID and Client Secret.

After selecting Google / Gmail as your mailer in the WP Mail SMTP settings, you will find the option to activate the One-Click Setup. Simply switch this toggle to the ON position to begin the simplified setup process.

Note: Only users within your organization can access your app if the User type is set to Internal. For example, if your Workspace domain is example.com, users can only access your app using an @example.com email address.

I have created a Windows application which is used to send emails. i have given credentials. i turned on google/settings/lesssecure apps. Eventhough its not sending. I prefer to use the Gmail app over the standard Mail app on my iPad for reading my personal Gmail (I delete a lot of mails, newsletters, etc., after reading and this is one tap in Gmail and several in Mail).

I have them set up so my personal Gmail uses the Gmail app and my work email is set up to use the standard Mail app. This all works fine except for one problem. If I'm in Gmail or Mail and send an email it sends from the relevant email address as expected. My problem is that when I share something via email from Safari or another app it sends from the email address configured in Settings for Mail (the work one) and I would prefer to do such sharing from my personal email address.

Does anyone know if there is a way to achieve this? I could switch the addresses to use the other app but as I never delete work email and delete personal mail at least 50% of the time, the behaviour of the apps is perfect the way I have them set up; if only I could solve that one little problem of controlling where shared items are sent from.

I already had my Gmail account added in Mail, calendar & contacts settings but with mail turned off. Once I turned mail on and did a test of sharing a page from Safari, I noticed that I now had access to the From header; the default was my work address but I could change it to my personal one. Checked settings again and found a Default Account setting; changed it to my personal account and now it's using that as the default for sharing via email. I can still use the Gmail app to work with my personal mail, while the Mail app has access to both accounts.

In your desktop Gmail you can, in Settings, add other accounts that you can use for "sending.". Then, when on my iPad (new), I can tap in the From box and access my other account as "sender." as far as I know you must set this up in the desktop/web version of Gmail.

I've been using POP to access my Gmail account using Mail, but I want to switch to IMAP to synchronize read emails with the web interface, and, most importantly, with my iPhone (which is already using IMAP). However, I know that Gmail has a nonstandard IMAP implementation which exposes multiple copies of the same message as different messages in different mailboxes, and I want to avoid keeping multiple copies of messages on my HD. OTOH, I do want to keep at least one copy, because I like having a full backup of my email.

I am on Lion and I'll be using Mail 5. It seems that Mail 5 might have some new support for Gmail's specific brand of IMAP, though I don't know how extensive. iOS Mail, for instance, has an "archive" button instead of "delete" for Gmail accounts; Mail 5 now has an "archive" feature too, and it would be nice if it synchronized with Gmail's idea of archiving. ff782bc1db
