So I know Crunchyroll recently rolled out their update with the preferred language, however, now I have no idea how many episodes are dubbed and how many aren't. I recently started a show I thought was complete but it wasn't (it showed by 12 under dub but only went up to 9). Before, when you had to choose the dub language (which yes, was annoying) I at least knew how many episodes were dubbed. I'm not the biggest fan of watching a show weekly. Is there a way to know how many episodes are actually dubbed when you have it under the new update?

I've been wondering about this for a while. For months, Crunchyroll's been bringing over English dubs and other anime from Funimation, but it's not even just that. Any episodes from anime exclusive to Crunchyroll or that Crunchyroll has brought onto the platform lately, sub or dub, has been going straight to premium. I figured, "Oh, when a new sub or dub episode comes out, we usually have to wait a week and then it'll be available." No, though! I can give a whole list of anime shows that the dubs/subs have been added to the platform and ones that have, over the past few weeks to almost two months, have had episodes added to them and they still aren't available to those of us who watch Crunchyroll without premium. The fact that they become available, even if it takes longer, was the whole reason I watched anime on Crunchyroll over Funimation.

I've been trying to find the answer, but I can't figure it out. Guys, I have to know, is this the new norm? We can't watch new episodes without putting money out? Or is this just temporary and things will become available with time? I'd love to know the answer.

Crunchyroll eventually began securing legal distribution agreements with companies, including Gonzo, for a growing list of titles. On January 8, 2009, after announcing a deal with TV Tokyo to host episodes of Naruto Shippuden, Crunchyroll stated that it was committed to removing all copyright-infringing material from its site and to only hosting content it had legitimate distribution rights to.[19]

On October 4, 2023, Sony announced it would launch the Crunchyroll Channel as a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) network under a partnership between its Crunchyroll and GSN divisions.[85][d] The linear service launched on October 11 for The Roku Channel, LG Channels, and Vizio WatchFree+ platforms. The channel later became available on Amazon Freevee on October 17. The initial programming lineup featured English dubbed episodes of anime titles such as Horimiya, Ranking of Kings, Moriarty the Patriot, Psycho-Pass, Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, To Your Eternity, and Code Geass.[86][87]

Crunchyroll has the world's biggest library of Japanese anime. It's perfect for watching ongoing series since the newest episodes arrive on the platform an hour after their Japanese premiere. In Spring 2022, Funimation merged with Crunchyroll, making its vast library even bigger.

One Piece has become a long-standing pillar of the anime community, with countless episodes and over a dozen movies to its name. Among all anime on Crunchyroll, it will take the longest to catch up on One Piece, but it's worth it for shonen fans.

Zom 100 is one of best new anime on Crunchyroll, with five episodes and counting to its name. This creative anime uses a standard zombie apocalypse scenario as the backdrop for the protagonist's final adventure before he will inevitably die. The male lead, Akira Tendo, was sick of his tedious office life, but now society is getting torn apart, so he's finally free.

Attack On Titan's final episodes are looming over fans' heads and anticipation is building to see how the series will end. Attack On Titan is one of the grittiest titles offered by the shonen demographic. A blood-soaked masterpiece, Attack On Titan follows Eren Yeager after his hometown is demolished by man-eating Titans.

Winter 2024 is right around the corner, and most of the season's anime will be airing on Crunchyroll like usual. While not a hard and fast rule, Winter has a habit of being one of the weaker seasons of the year; however, 2024 could very well buck this trend. For one, some of Fall 2023's best anime will continue to air episodes since they are slated for two cours.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End tells an introspective tale that touches upon themes of friendship, mortality, and grief. Launching with four episodes, the adaptation got off to a running start, and Madhouse has so far delivered on the source material's potential. Frieren is impossible to not like, and the rest of her party are all clearly defined. The flashbacks have also been integrated well into the story, creating a journey that balances drama, whimsy, humor, and melancholy incredibly well.

Consistently entertaining, Shangri-La Frontier was among Fall 2023's most reliable action series, and the episodes have been steadily building toward a massive encounter that will test the protagonist's abilities in battle. This upcoming fight has received a lot of attention, so it really needs to deliver the goods.

Barakamon emphasizes the importance of finding and engaging with a community. In the span of just 12 episodes, Sei undergoes an extraordinary change that is fully earned and never comes across as forced. The anime is also consistently hilarious, and all of its humor is wholesome.

Weirdly, Crunchyroll does not have this show's second season, making for an incomplete and disjointed experience. Still, season one has 75 episodes, so there is a lot of content to go through before hitting that wall.

Adapted from a visual novel, Steins;Gate is split into two halves: the first twelve episodes have an almost slice of life tone as they follow the quirky lives of the Future Gadget Laboratory's members, led by the enigmatic Rintaro Okabe. The anime's second half is a sci-fi thrill ride centering around the consequences of time travel and the people willing to kill for it.

Set in the (not too) distant future, humanity has set up roots across the galaxy. The eponymous ship belongs to two bounty hunters, Spike and Jet, who are willing to take on all sorts of odd jobs. Before long, their crew expands to include Faye, Ed, and an adorable dog. Cowboy Bebop offers a perfect mix of stand-alone episodes and serial storytelling; the former are highly entertaining, while the latter add depth to the characters. The anime's soundtrack is also phenomenal.

Since launching in 2006, Crunchyroll has become a force in the world of anime. It's a Sony-owned brand encompassing anime streaming, gaming, merchandise and digital manga. It also hosts its own events like the annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards. After officially merging with fellow industry giant Funimation in 2022, the platform is home to more than 40,000 episodes of content in multiple languages. Favorites include Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen and Spy x Family.

Episodes made available on Crunchyroll within a day of their broadcast debut in Japan are referred to as simulcast episodes. Manga chapters added soon after being published in Japan are called simulpub chapters. 17dc91bb1f
