How To Download Calamity Terraria

Me and a buddy just beat the game on tmodloader (just some QoL mods) and we wanna keep playing. If I download calamity, can we keep playing on that same world or will we have to start another? If we do, what are some good post-moonlord content mods that won't make us have to restart?
