In my Smarthub there are few options. I am trying to add two apps, specifically YouTubeTV and FuboTV but there doesn't seem to be an option to add apps that are not in the store. It's a 4 year old model, I think, UN32J5205AFXZA and Smart Hub seems limited to Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Vudu, Google Play, Fandango and a browser. There are some other options but nothing I have ever heard of. Is there a way to circumvent this option.

I'm struggling to work out how to add the Justwatch app to my 3-year-old smart TV. Do I need something like a Roku - and which is the best one just for this? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello. We have an older model of a Samsung smart TV. I think it is a 2012 or 2013 model? the Model is UE40H6400. I have updated it but not sure if it is on the latest version as when I do a search for updates it says no updates available?

The problem I am having is in the smarthub? I want to search for newer apps to download (Spotify/Zoom etc) but for the life of me I cannot find a way to search for any new apps? I have tried in the categories and What's new sections but I do not get the option to search, just a selection? Can anyone advise? Also the web browser that comes with the TV is slow and dreadful. Is there ANY way I can improve it? Hope someone can help?

Thank you so much for reaching out! This forum is for support of US products and customers. As your product is a non-US model and support for these models is very limited, please seek a support team for your area. You can do so by using this link: Thanks!

I have the same question for a UN65H7150. Seems you can only download apps from the Samsung App store. How do I do that? There is no option on the TV and I dont have a Samsung phone. I tried going to the Samsung App Store with my PC but the connection was refused. I'll try to connect again another time. I assume we can download the app file and then use a USB or PC to transfer and install it on the TV.

I also have a older Samsung smart tv and I contacted Samsung's support that they talk about. I spent 2 1/2 hours on a live chat with 2 different techs and they still couldn't figure it out and finally after they quit responding for over 15 minutes I ended the chat

Same problem here. Have UN32J525D and have spent hours trying to find a way to see any apps that aren't preinstalled. TV is only a couple of years old. Click on the Smart Hub, it offers Featured Samsung Apps, click on that and there are the 3 categories (Most Popular, What's New, and Categories). Only in Categories (Videos/Games/Sports/Lifestyle/Information/Education/Kids) can anything be selected at all, and that's just for whatever was preloaded within the category. When initially clicking on the Smart Hub to get the Featured Samsung Apps box, there is Featured and Recent and Clear All. If Featured Apps is selected (but not clicked through) there will be a search box (magnifying lens) choice, but anything entered into it offers a Youtube video containing the app search terms, but no apps unless already preinstalled. Google Play Movies is installed, but not Google Play or Galaxy Store, so I have no idea how to get other apps.

And the same here - the basics like BBC I-player and Channel 4 on demand not available in the Samsung Apps list, which only includes loads of useless apps that are no use to anyone. I won't be buying a Samsung TV in future

Fortunatly you can get various devices that will make your TV smart again - and there not too expensive, i own both a roku and (amazon) fire streaing device, however one pf those will do for you and oth support now 9as well as amazon prime)

Best bet is to not come to rely on inbuilt apps at all and take the plunge with an external device. Bonus being the external device has a much better chance of being kept up to date by the developers especially if its a 'biggie' like the Amazon Firestick..... the TV will carry on working for many years and should you need to upgrade your smart experience in the future you just need an inexpensive replacement for the Firestick etc and it can and will always be the best it can be without having to worry about replacing a TV.

Even the less cynical among us will note that there is no revenue for TV makers in updating the OS on their older TVs, beyond that which is necessary to give them a respectable six-years, or better, lifespan.

So this TV is augmented with a Roku Streaming Stick+, plugged into the One Connect box on the floor, behind a small kitchen unit, where the Roku remote not needing line of sight to the Stick means this is no problem at all.

It makes you wonder home many perfectly good screens are thrown away when the apps stop working , and people spend over 500 on a new TV when they could spend aroud 50 on a streaming device Roku or Fire?

the 'smart' part has a much shorter shelf life than the actual TV. To most people nowadays a TV is just basically a monitor anyway as many choose to add external sound systems, and external STBs such as Sky, Tivo, and many smart sticks and boxes.

And does the Tizen 6.5 and 7 signage displays still support the older APIs, or only the newer ones? I noticed in the docs that quite a number of APIs now have new names and functions, albeit performing similar functions.

In Samsung signage 2023 run Tizen 7.0 need partner level certificate to run API in WEBAPIS/webapis/webapis.js. So how do get a partner level certificate to run on all Samsung signage old and new model? Current have a public certificate call is ''Samsung Enterpirse Distributor Public Signer expire day 2027/01/01

I know a little bit about Smart TV issues but very little about the Signage and Hospitality side of things. All I know is the what is in the Signage Documentation and you probably understand it better than I do. All I see is for 2022 and 2023 Models.

Meanwhile, perhaps you could forward this question and try to get an answer; Is it possible to create a single app that will work both on older Tizen SSSP displays and modern signage displays, or do we need to develop and maintain two separate versions?

There are two types of certificates. Author which tells Samsung who you are and allows you to update your app. The other is the Distributor certificate and that allows you to install your app as a developer on a Samsung Device. Your distributor certificate is replaced by Samsung as distributor when it is published.

Yes, after being in contact with Samsung and creating a ticket on partnerhub.samsung.com, Samsung reached out with instructions as well as a new distribution certificate which got the app running for Tizen 7.0.

This isn't correct. I have a Samsung Smart Tv with a HDMI port. I've tried two different Streaming Stick models and neither works with the TV. I've unplugged and rebooted the TV. (I've unplugged and reconnected everything - no help.) I tried a different HDMI cord. Still didn't work. From what I could understand online, there's some protective function that prevents the devices from communicating with each other. I have no idea if that's true, but it's the only explanation I could find. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know!

I know this is a year old post but I have a 2014 samsung not-so-smart-anymore tv and a roku ultra working just fine with only occasional hiccoughs, which I think have little to nothing to do with the tv.

Don't worry - it's quick and painless! Just click below, and once you're logged in we'll bring you right back here and post your question. We'll remember what you've already typed in so you won't have to do it again.

The Spotify app on my Samsung Smart TV 2014 is no longer available from today September 1st. Use on TV was the main reason for my premium subscription. Are you planning to re-establish the app for these models before 2015? If not, what other alternatives do I have? Thank you

Spotify wants to make playing Spotify on your TV and other devices better and easier. This means we they sometimes discontinuing device-specific apps and, instead, are giving you the ability to play to these devices from the same app you use to play Spotify on your phone, tablet, or laptop.

I just finished to chat with samsung customer service. I cannot post the quote on quote chat, not sure the reason. but to make a long story short, she said that spotify made this decision, nothing to do with samsung and she did not oppose my comment that hey are trying to push customers in buying external streaming devices such as amazon tv, apple tv, etc. Very upsetting and frustrating.

With Tizen TV, users can navigate through menus, browse the internet, stream content from popular apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and YouTube and even download additional applications from the Tizen App Store.

Tizen TVs are known for their smooth performance, fast app loading times, and seamless integration with other Samsung devices. They often come with advanced features such as high-resolution displays, HDR (High Dynamic Range) support, and various connectivity options like HDMI, USB, and Wi-Fi. 152ee80cbc
