Today I did a cleaning of poor apps from the Fire, uninstalling them from the entire device. However, they still show up under the Kid account in the Recent list. If you click on those icons it attempts to redownload and install the app. So my question is how to I remove the links from the Recent list so that my kid doesn't accidentally try to reinstall the apps? Long press on the icons only brings up options to Download or Add to Favorites and I can't find anything in the Settings, either on the kid or main account, to clear or reset the Recent list. Since the Android TV leanback library is apparently compatible with SDK level 17, which is what the Amazon Fire TV uses, I set the minimum SDK level on my Android TV app and installed it using ADB on my Fire TV. It actually works without any problems. However, it doesn't appear in the apps list in Settings, so I can only launch it through ADB. And when I tried to do a Live App Test in the Amazon Developer console, it won't even install.
Take note of all the package names that you want to uninstall. (PLEASE be careful. DO a backup first. Many if not all sources say it's oh so easy to re-install apps because you don't really fully delete them and only uninstall them for the current user but I did have issues with re-installing it on some devices in the past! Also removing crucial system applications can cause bootloops.)
