If you are a little hesitant but want to try life without Facebook, you can of course, temporarily deactivate your account. But note: Facebook will encourage you to do this rather than delete, and this does not delete your account or data from Facebook.

On the other hand, when a user deletes their account, they will lose access to it permanently, along with all of their data, such as posts, messages, photos, and videos. Here are a few things to take care of:

How To Delete Your Facebook Account On Ipod Fixed

Ever since the recent update I keep getting a pop up asking me to enter my facebook password. I've been told to go into my settings and delete the Facebook account but it won't delete. Facebook says this has nothing to do with them because it's not the Facebook app. I have deleted the app it's self many times. I can't even log into the app because that pop up keeps coming up. So I haven't downloaded it again. And I'm still getting that pop up, even when I'm writing this it's popping up asking me to put in my facebook password.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If your Facebook account won't delete from Settings on your iPad, I would recommend trying first to force Settings to close and try again, then a restart, and finally a reset, in that order:

Ariel S - I'm have the same problem - since the recent application upgrade (asking to put in Facebook password and cannot delete account). Did what you've suggested, twice, and still no fix. Is Apple giong to provide an upgarde to fix the issue for the iPad? The last upgrade was iOS 7.0.4, which based on the issues I'm experiencing and those of my fellow commuity members, is seriously flawed.

I had the same problem. I had permanently deleted the Facebook account before I attempted to remove it from my iPad. Ergo, the password was no longer linked to Facebook. So I rejoined Facebook, changed the Facebook generated email address to what it had been previously, and then was able to delete Facebook from my iPad. Then back to the computer to permanently delete my Facebook account. It was a pita, but I no longer have to put up with those iPad pop ups asking me for my Facebook password.

I wanted to use my facebook with my changed email id but when I opened the facebook app, that kept showing 'alert with setting and ok buttons' so I touched 'setting' then sending me "setting>general>privacy>facebook" because of that I couldn't login and couldn't use the fb app. so I tried "general > privacy > facebook > delete this facebok account"

Apparently, this is not an isolated issue. I have an old Facebook account that I deactivated. I have a new Facebook account that I created and installed on my ipad (which is also running the newest iOS). One of my apps requires me to connect through Facebook, but no matter what I do, my ipad keeps trying to find my old Facebook account. I have done all the suggestions...I logged in from my laptop and deleted Facebook fom my iTunes library, then synced it up to my ipad, then reinstalled the app with my new info; however, that did not solve my problem. The delete button under settings does nothing and none of my passwords work because the old Facebook account is deactivated. This really is a bad reflection on Apple...nothing is more frustrating than spending a ton of money on a piece of technology that has bugs that cannot be fixed....

Meg, I did that already...several times and also delete it and tried to reinstall it. It will not recognize my Facebook account because my ipad defaults to my deactivated Facebook account that I cannot log into anyway.

This wikiHow teaches you how to remove a linked account from Facebook Messenger on an iPhone or iPad. You can easily delete a Messenger account from your iPhone as long as you're still signed in with at least one other Facebook account. Removing the account from Messenger won't actually delete the account, it will just remove its login information from this phone or tablet.

When you deactivate your account, it is actually hide all your posted or shared information. Facebook will save all of your settings, photos, etc. in case you decide to reactivate your account. People can still search for you, but your profile won't be shown up.

You can use Facebook again by reactivating your Facebook account. All you need to do is to log back in, then you can change your password if considerable time has elapsed and you've forgotten the one before. Your profile as well as your personal information still exist, and previous messages and comments typically re-appear too.

Though you have deactivated your Facebook account and might not use it again in a while, it's a good idea for you to clear data or cache to free up space of your phone. If you are an iPhone user and want to clear Facebook cache and fragments, you can use iMyFone Umate Pro for help.

When you chat with friends on Facebook App, all your sent photos and videos will be saved on your iPhone. As time goes by, your iPhone may be full of Facebook videos, which take lots of storage space. Thus, many people delete Facebook videos, photos and messages regularly to free up more space.

You can recover accidentally deleted videos from Facebook by downloading its archived file. Well, this method does not help to recover the Facebook live video. If you do not save the Facebook live video on your iPhone before, then it is hard to complete the deleted Facebook live video recovery.

This video demonstrates the technique to setup a Yahoo email on an iPod Touch. You start going into settings and then clicking account. On the next screen you will click "Other" and then click on "Pop". At this point you enter your name and email address that you use for your Yahoo email account. Incoming server or host name is "pop.mail.yahoo.com", next is the username (which is your yahoo email address without the @yahoo). You will then enter your password and the out going smtp server which is "smtp.mail.yahoo.com". Then click save and the setup is complete, you will now have your yahoo email coming to your iPod touch.
