NOTE: If these fonts aren't the writing style you're looking for, that's okay! You don't have to use these fonts to write with your Cricut. There are other options online and within Cricut Design Space. I'll show you what to look for to make sure you're selecting the right kind.

When you use the Text tool and open the font menu, a kerned fonts filter in the upper right is applied by default. With that filter applied, only kerned fonts will show up in the list of fonts to use.

I was having a problem getting the Mac system fonts to show up in Cricut Design Space. Called support and nobody could give a solution that would help. I saw a good number of threads started and closed with no resolution. Here is what finally worked for me.

I've bought fonts from creativemarket and fontbundles.net to name a few. To be honest, I buy most of my fonts and if you plan to make anything that you will eventually sell, you should do the same too because when you purchase a font it comes with a commercial license. Just to be on the safe side.

This is a bit tricky because I've seen fonts that mention right out the gate that extra font characters are included. On the flip side, I've seen fonts that give you nothing and you're left guessing. Here are a few tips to help you figure out if the font has special characters and flourishes:

Fontesk works just like any other font website on this list. It has the highest quality fonts free for download for all types of projects. You can tick the boxes between fonts for personal or commercial use, and you get hundreds of stunning font styles.

As the name suggests, Cool Font offers users the most fantastic fonts suitable for every project type. You can type your text on the field above, and it will display all sorts of font styles you can decorate or copy. It also has other features such as Text Art, Lenny Faces, an Emoji keyboard, Cool Symbols, and more.

Choosing a font-generating platform to download free fonts for Cricut should involve ease of use. And Google Fonts is one of the platforms that offers users a quick solution to their Cricut projects. You can either search for fonts or browse from the list of font types and see the different styles in every category as well.

Last week, I shared how to Upload Fonts into Cricut Design Space while on your desktop computer or laptop. It seemed to clear up some confusion for many, but it inevitably left the question of how to upload various fonts if your primary way of Cricut crafting is an iPad or an iPhone.

I googled and read a bunch of ways on how to install fonts and figured out a way that I think seems the most straightforward so I have step by step picture tutorial for you below plus a full video tutorial.

Then using the Safari app (I tried Google and had a hard time getting it to work) go to a website you want to download a font from. I love getting $1 fonts and free fonts from creativefabrica.com and fontbundles.net so this is where I went to.

Just a reminder that the download fonts do not save to a Cricut cloud, they only download on that specific tablet or computer. If you go to another computer, you will have to install the font there also if you want to open up and use CDS on it.

To do this, head to the fonts in the top edit bar. Select 'Filter' then tick 'Writing.' This will then show all fonts with the writing style capability. This is great for writing tags, envelopes, labels and more!

Something I learned early on was you could download fonts to your computer and use them in design space. Now I still subscribe to Cricut access which gives you access to over 300 fonts and a ton of images, but even subscribing to Cricut access they still want to charge for certain fonts.

You can use this font in any program that has fonts including Cricut design space. Before you can use this font in design space you have to make sure you are logged out of design space until the font is installed.

See how the letters aren't connected like in the sample of the font? That's just a part of downloading fonts into design space, but there's a simple fix. All you do is reduce the letter spacing on the right side of the screen. Just keep pressing the decrease button until it's to your liking.

This information has been very helpful. However I am still struggling a little. I downloaded some fronts from dafont.com, logged off my design space and logged back in. Where will I see the fonts from there? When I select the writing fonts only I am not seeing them? Do I have to import them into the design space?

Do you know if there is a way to have it show the font before choosing it? When scrolling through the font options in Design Space, it does not show me a preview of the fonts I just installed and now I keep having to guess which one I want lol. Thank you!! This has saved me so much money already!

That being said, you can find free fonts out there if you know where to look, and there are sites that offer weekly freebies or discounted fonts, making it much easier to grow your font library without breaking the bank.
