I have designed the perfect 2023 planner for me. It has everything I need. This includes lots of templates, images, and 100s of pages (a page for ea day plus). All good, except I am nowhalf way to completing and I get a message that the project is too big to save! I am a little miffed. I sprung for the paid version thinking it could do everything by Sunday, but this happens. Is there a solution? Is there some way to shrink the project in Canva? Do I just have to go back and reduce backgrounds and whatever to get it to fit? Anyway, just what is the Canva max file size? Thanks for any suggestions.

I would suggest you to download the different sections or pages and add as image. Then you use the image and then place buttons so, when someone visit your website it will look as canva but for buttons you have to add and rest is okay

How Do I Download My Canva Design

When you finish a design in Canva, you can import it directly into Mailchimp. Your design is imported into the content studio as a JPG image, and it can be used with your email campaigns, website, social posts, ads, and other Mailchimp features.

Click on any design template to visit the editor. Depending on the template you choose and your Canva account type, you may need to click Customize this template or Use this template before you reach the editor.

After you connect the integration and import a design, add it to your Mailchimp campaign with an Image content block in the classic email builder or new email builder. To embed a design as HTML for a website, check out this Canva article.

If you are a Canva user, you already know how simple it is to create amazing and stunning graphics for your social posts and business! With the Canva button, you can use your previous designs and create new ones without having to leave your post! ?

Canva may charge your account twice for premium assets, because uploading existing designs will create a copy in HeyOrca. Creating copies or changing designs that have premium assets or elements in Canva will require you to pay for the assets again.

Canva will not save a design created in HeyOrca to your Canva design library. It can only upload whatever is created directly to the post. However, it will be saved within your HeyOrca Media Library and you can make edits to that design from here at anytime.

To see some examples or how easy this is to do in OneNote, see the example video of a Canva project being embedded in OneNote. You can now create pages, sections, and even entire notebooks chock-full of Canva designs! NOTE: This integration only works in OneNote for web to start, but we are adding support for OneNote Windows 10, Mac, iPad, Android, and 2016 in the near future.

But here is the thing that will drive you a little nutty. All the decorative elements will show up here, and if your design has overlapping elements (like a title overlapping a picture) you are going to be limited in how you display your reading order.

What a wonderfully though walk through! If folks have specific questions about making the charts on their canva designs accessible (including how to write good alt text for charts) a group of data viz a11y advocates has compiled an amazing repo of resources:

Also, FYI, the option to share a Canva design as a template is available to BOTH free and Pro Canva users. That said, if you want to give Canva Pro a try, feel free to sign up for a 45-day free Canva Pro trial using my unique affiliate link.

But, just for the record, you can actually give access to your original design with a link if you so choose. Just click the share button at the top-right corner, and then in the dropdown, you can choose to share the design with specific people or with anyone with a link (similar to sharing a Google doc with a link.)

When you share a Canva design as a template using a special template link, people with that link can click it and a copy of the original design will be created on their Canva accounts, and they will be able to make changes to it on their end.

A template is something the end-user will open on their on, on their own Canva account. If you meant to ask how to create a fillable PDF document, then you can look at external services. Adobe Acrobat can do that with PDFs. There are a few others too. PDFescape can also create fillable PDF documents. I wrote about PDFescape here: -worksheets-checklists-with-canva/

Hello, I have a few questions: If I share the template and the buyer has no canva account, will there be an option available for him to create one? And if he does, and upgrades later, do I get the comissions from this, or how exactly does this work?

Thanks and best regards!

Hello! I have a Canva Pro account so I have access to the images and fonts only available to pro users. That said, if I create a template in Canva to sell/share and use pro images and fonts, will the end user (who may only have a free account) be able to see/use the pro fonts/images that I included in my design? Thanks in advance!

Hi Mahlia, if I give someone a link to a design, will they be able to view my dashboard (as in be able to see all of the other things I have designed over the years?) or will they solely see just the image I have shared? Thank you ?

So now why do I like to download most of my images from Canva as PDF? Because however PNGs or JPGs are downloaded from Canva, they never come out as clear as if I first download it as a PDF, then convert it to a JPG or PNG. This is slight variation is more apparent in graphic designs, than it is in image files downloaded from Canva. See the image below? I zoomed in on this design to show the detail in pixelization of each file format.

Many people recommend doubling the resolution of your Canva design to get a less blurry image. The only caution I have on this is doubling the size in Canva will also increase the file size of your image, affecting its web and email friendliness. The goal is to get the smallest file size while retaining the best quality.

Creating a FB Cover? Choose the FB Cover template in Canva that is 940788. Click Resize and choose Custom dimensions and enter 1880 w x 1576 h, and click resize. Proceed with designing your image. (this would not be my first recommendation due to file size issues).

To import an image from Canva into a Design & Print Online project, create your design in Canva for one label or card on your project (Design & Print will automatically repeat it). Note: if your image appears blurry, jagged or pixelated in Canva, it will also print that way, so try to improve the image quality while you're still in Canva.

On Canva you can start with a clean canvas and build your design using the one-page website builder. But templates make things so much simpler. Just by looking at the existing designs, you get an idea about the kind of visual elements you can use in your designs. Templates help you venture outside of your comfort zone and try something new.

But when you do use templates on Canva design, ensure that you incorporate your brand colors, fonts, and other visual cues that instantly help connect all your brand designs. By adding your creative flair you can customize the template and breathe new life into the design. This way you have something unique to represent your brand.

And with Kimp subscriptions, you also get unlimited revisions. So, if you want the Kimp team to rework on them to make minor changes or create new designs based on the existing ones, we are happy to help!

Designers have a knack for balancing creativity and design principles. While creativity helps them come up with unique ideas, the design principles ensure that form follows function. As a non-designer when you try Canva design, you should also have a brief understanding of design principles. Because without them, the design might not be as aesthetically appealing as you expect. Or the purpose of the design might be lost.

There are various elements that design principles talk about including contrast, balance, hierarchy, alignment, and negative spaces. Each has a role to play and cannot be ignored. Therefore, when you start with a Canva template and tweak it to suit your style, always refer to the design principles to be sure that you are not creating something vague or ambiguous.

There is a common misconception that you need brand guidelines (aka brand style guide) only when you outsource designs. The truth is, even when you have an in-house design team or when you do the designs yourself you still need brand guidelines.

As you can see from the above brand guidelines, you have all your brand identity design details in one place. From the color codes for your brand colors to the font names and logo usage rules, everything is captured in a brand style guide. Therefore, you have a reliable reference for your Canva design projects. So you do not have to speculate whether the blue you chose is darker or lighter than your brand color! You can simply key in the code in the color selection area on Canva.

Kimp Tip: If you have a Pro account on Canva populate your brand kit in your account. This includes your logo design in different variations like with and without background, color variations, symbol and wordmark variations, and so on. By having them stored in your Canva design account for easy access and your brand style guide to refer to when you have doubts about positioning or resizing your logo, you can consistently use it across your designs.

Some designs are text-heavy, like flyers and brochures. And some need to limit the text content, like social media graphics, billboard designs, and web banner ads. Understand the relevance and keep the text in your design minimal.

Kimp Tip: As you adjust your text portions on Canva design, experiment with font sizes and line spacings. You would want the text to flow naturally in the design and the spacing should be enough to ensure legibility. Finally, the contrast between the background color and font color also determines if the text is easy to read. When you have textured backgrounds or tricky colors, making your font stand out might seem difficult. In such cases, you can always add box details to make the text portion stand out.
