How Can I Download Zoom For Free On My Computer

Zoom frequently releases updates. However, the Zoom app on your computer doesn't update itself automatically, so manually check for and apply updates regularly (do the update in the app not at stonybrook.zoom.us). If you have issues updating Zoom, create a ticket.

I know that this is not really an SCCM topic, but to everyone who wants to get Zoom uninstalled from the computers in the org and not knowing how to do it, please note that Zoom "installs" in the user's %appData% folder. It does not "register" on the computer at all. This is the uninstall command:

%appdata%\Zoom\uninstall\Installer.exe /uninstall

I've developed a recent issue when I attempt to screen share: my zoom interface freezes while screen sharing or as soon as I stop screen sharing (people on the other end can still hear me, but I can't click on the interface or write in chat, and the interface often looks distorted). The only way to resolve the issue is to use my task manager to quit out of zoom then to go back to the meeting (which I am hosting) to re-enter. This is a big problem, because I am using zoom to instruct college students.

My computer is using the windows 10 home edition 64 bit OS. My processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz, and my video card is an NVIDIA GeForce 1070Ti. My ISP is Xfinity with over 450 Mbps download speed and 12 Mbps upload speed.

Did you check to see if there is any updates pending on your Windows computer? Is there any other applications that might be consuming a lot resources while you are running Zoom? Is the Zoom application up to date? You might benefit from this article by removing entirely the Zoom application by using the cleanzoom.exe file -us/articles/360062306851-Troubleshooting-screen-flicker-when-sharing-a... then reinstall it from www.zoom.us/download.

Thanks for the reply. Everything should be up to date on my computer at the moment. I will certainly try to reinstall the zoom application. The issue I have been having isn't flickering, though, it's a complete freeze of the zoom interface. I can still hear people and they can hear me, but nothing on the interface works when I click on it.

One thing I have tried to do is modify the video rendering as outlined below in the screen shot, but when I click my portrait on my zoom client, I don't get the settings option coming up. My name and "sign out" are the only things linked there. There is a settings link to click to the left of my screen, but that doesn't take me anyplace where there is a video tab, just to a long list of boxes to check to scroll through (nothing there to alter the video settings I can find).

I did finally figure out how to fix it, at least for now. I had to uninstall zoom and reinstall it. This gave me access to the settings I needed below my portrait. Maybe zoom needed to update but couldn't for some reason, or a file was corrupted?

So another avenue to explore for people with persistent crashing issues would be to turn off the web cam while screen sharing and see if this helps. If so, it may be the webcam causing it. Note, I zoom from a desktop without a built-in webcam, so I had to purchase an accessory one.

having the exact same issue, but intermittently. It seems to happen most often towards the end of the day if I have had 2-3 zoom meetings. then when i share screen - I freeze, they can still hear me, but I am locked out of the controls. But for me - I was NOT able to access event the task bar and end the Zoom process, I had to use the power button to hard reboot my computer. Most often the other people see just a black box. Luckily I had assigned a co-host, they were able to kick me out of screen sharing and keep the zoom meeting going while I rebooted

One trick I have learned - if you have another partner, or student you can trust, you can asign someone as a co-host and they can stop your screen sharing, and kee the meeting going while you jump out of zoom - just an idea

By clicking on the small caret next to the microphone icon, you can choose your microphone and speaker settings. It normally defaults to your built-in microphone and speakers, but you can select any other microphone or speakers you have plugged in to your computer. Zoom has more information on Audio Settings at -us/articles/201362283-Testing-computer-or-device-audio.

I had an incident where my CTRL key was stuck and the mouse wheel was adjusting the zoom level of my Windows 10 desktop. I would like to reset the zoom level back to its default, but CTRL-0 doesn't seem to work on the Windows desktop. I have no way of knowing (besides eyeballing) if my desktop is back to the default zoom level when I adjust it. Is there any way of resetting it to the default?

I also thought that CTRL + 0 wasn't working to reset to 100% zoom ... but it is only when I use the 0 key on the extended keyboard that it fails, using the 0 key one main keyboard (above P) that it resets to 100% ... I'll just need to get into the habit of using the main number keys instead of the small numeric keypad that I am so used to.

Whether you record on your computer or in the cloud is a personal choice. Recording to the cloud offers many more features since it's done on Zoom servers, which have the direct feed from all participants. Recording to your computer is an option, too, especially if you don't have space on Zoom's cloud or if your company has security policies against hosting company recordings in the cloud.

This opens the folder with your Zoom recording video files on your Windows or Mac desktop. You can change the storage location from the default to another recording folder if you wish. Of course, this step only applies if you're saving recordings to your computer and not to the cloud.

To join a meeting in Zoom, a host must first create a meeting and share a URL link, ID, and password to the meeting with you. You can join a Zoom meeting on a desktop computer either via a URL link or via Zoom Client.

Blue Arrow: Like the mic, your video may be automatically turned off. You can control it my clicking on the camera icon. If your video is on, participants will be able to see whatever is in the view of your computer camera.

Grey Arrow: Zoom allows participants to share content to the meeting window. If the host allows, participants can click this icon and then choose what files from their computer to share.

Zoom combines video conferencing, online meetings and in-conference group chat into one easy-to-use tool that is ideal for KU conference rooms and online meetings with external partners. Zoom at KU allows for video, audio and content sharing among up to 300 participants on most devices, including Windows and Mac computers, Android and iOS devices, and KU video conferencing room systems (e.g., Polycom).

This guide will explain how to send and receive video/audio between vMix and Zoom, using the same computer. Note that using the same computer will contribute to the overall system usage and performance. If you would instead like two use two separate computers, see the below link on how to add Zoom calls to vMix using two separate computers on the same network: -zoom-calls-to-vmix-with-return-video-and-audio If you would like to use Zoom and vMix on the same computer, we recommend monitoring the performance on the system. You can do this by checking the usage statistics at the bottom left corner of vMix: -do-the-usage--performance-statistics-in-the-bottom-left-corner-of-vmix-mean There are 2 ways to capture a Zoom meeting from the same computer. The way that will work with most Windows installations and provides the best performance is the Display Capture Method. You'll need to run Zoom Full-screen and capture your screen. The second method is to capture the Zoom window, but this is only possible with vMix 23.0.0.48 or later and Windows 10-1903. Zoom Display Capture methodZoom Window Capture method Tutorial Video Requirements for Display Capture method Zoom web conferencing softwareA licensed copy of vMixVB-Cable Virtual Audio Device software - -audio.com/Cable/Latest version of Newtek's NDI Tool Pack which contains the NDI Webcam Input (formerly known as NDI Virtual Input) program we will be using in this guide. Two separate displays connected to the same graphics card. WorkflowStep 1Firstly make sure that both the VB-Cable Virtual Audio Device and NDI Webcam Input programs are installed via the links provided above. Open vMix and select the Settings button from the top right hand corner. Step 2Select the Outputs/NDI/SRT tab. Next to Output 1, tick the NDI button so it is green and says NDI On. Next click the cog icon to the right of this and select BusA from the Audio Channels dropdown menu. This will enable the NDI output from vMix with BusA audio included. Using Bus A audio means we can control what audio is sent back to Zoom - to avoid any audio feedback. Step 3Next go to the Audio Outputs tab and set the Bus A option to Enabled. Step 4Go to the Audio Mixer in vMix. Activate the Bus A button on any audio inputs you wish to send to Zoom. Such as your Microphone input. You can also choose to turn down the volume of your microphone in your headphones so you don't hear your own voice. To do that, click the cog icon button on the audio input to open its audio settings. Then turn down the headphones volume in the bottom left corner all the way down. Step 5Open the NewTek NDI Webcam Input program that comes installed with the Newtek NDI Tools pack. Once running, click the arrow in the task tray at the bottom right of Windows and right click the yellow and black NDI icon. Select your computer name -> then select vMix - Output 1. Step 6Open Zoom and start your meeting. Make sure Zoom is displayed fullscreen on a secondary monitor as this will allow us to capture it into vMix. Firstly, we will configure the Zoom audio. Select the arrow next to the microphone icon in the bottom left corner. Then choose the following:Microphone: Line (NewTek NDI Audio)Speakers: CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable) The Microphone option will send audio from vMix to Zoom. The Speakers option will allow us to send the audio coming out of Zoom into vMix. Next we will configure the Zoom video source. Select the arrow next to the camera icon in the bottom left corner. Then choose the Newtek NDI Video option. Step 7Once your guests have joined your Zoom meeting, we can now add them into vMix. To add the video, select the Add Input button from the bottom left corner. Then select the NDI / Desktop Capture tab. Choose the Local Desktop Capture button from the top. From here, we need to select the corresponding display number that you have Zoom currently displaying on. If you have two monitors, this will usually be Display2. Select the Display2 option and press OK. (Note: Do not select the Zoom program option as direct capture is not supported). Step 8Next we will add the audio coming from Zoom. Select the Add Input button from the bottom left corner. Then select the Audio Input tab. From the Audio Device drop down menu choose CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable). Then press OK. Step 9Now that our Zoom video and audio is in vMix, we can use it as part of our production.(Note: Make sure not to enable the Bus A audio button on the Zoom audio input (Audio CABLE Output) so that the guest does not hear their own audio back as an echo).
