If you want a comprehensive friction-reducing oil additive that treats the internal mechanics of both gas and diesel engines to lower noise and boost fuel economy, choose Hot Shot's Secret FR3; if you need a targeted fuel system cleaner designed specifically to restore catalytic converter efficiency and improve combustion cycles in cars and motorcycles, choose Lodoot Upgrades Engine Catalytic. This decision comes down to whether your priority is protecting the engine block from wear or cleaning the exhaust pathway for better emissions and power output, especially when operating in hot climates where thermal stress on both lubrication systems and emission controls is highest.
• Hot Shot's Secret FR3: Its biggest strength is being a versatile 100% synthetic oil additive that reduces friction across both gas and diesel engines while restoring lost compression; its trade-off is that it requires a specific mixing ratio and cannot be combined with other aftermarket additives like Stiction Eliminator.
• Lodoot Upgrades Engine Catalytic: Its biggest strength is its ability to control hydrocarbon emissions and renew motor mechanisms by cleaning harmful residues from cylinders without needing oil replacement; its trade-off is its highly specialized function limited strictly to fuel and exhaust systems rather than general engine protection.
• Hot Shot's Secret FR3 is for drivers looking to extend engine life and quiet noisy lifters in high-mileage vehicles.
• Lodoot Upgrades Engine Catalytic is for owners dealing with clogged catalytic converters or seeking to optimize combustion efficiency in smaller engines.
Hot Shot's Secret FR3 is engineered as a robust solution for vehicle owners who prioritize the longevity and smooth operation of their engine internals. As a 100% synthetic oil additive, it is formulated to tackle the fundamental issue of metal-on-metal contact within the engine block. The data indicates it can increase horsepower and fuel economy by up to 5 percent simply by reducing friction. This isn't just about saving a few pennies at the pump; in real-world driving, particularly in hot climates, this reduction in friction translates to less heat generation within the engine components. When an engine runs cooler and smoother, the risk of thermal degradation on seals and gaskets diminishes significantly, which is a critical factor for vehicles pushed hard during summer months.
The product shines in its versatility, working effectively with both synthetic and conventional oils in either gas or diesel engines. This broad compatibility means you do not need to hunt for a niche product based on your fuel type; one bottle handles the heavy lifting for a wide range of machinery. A standout feature is its ability to diminish lifter and valve noise while restoring lost compression. If your car has developed that distinct ticking sound common in older engines, this additive targets those specific mechanical gaps to tighten them up, offering a quieter driving experience. The design philosophy here is clear: it displaces a portion of the oil to introduce a protective layer that prevents wear, ensuring the equipment lasts longer.
However, there are specific constraints to consider before adding this to your maintenance routine. More importantly, the manufacturer explicitly warns against using it in combination with Stiction Eliminator or other aftermarket oil additives. Mixing these products could negate the benefits or cause unforeseen chemical reactions within the oil pan. This makes FR3 best suited for a straightforward application after an oil change, rather than as part of a complex cocktail of treatments.

You should skip Hot Shot's Secret FR3 if you are looking for a fuel system cleaner or a product to fix a clogged catalytic converter. Since this is an oil additive, it will not travel through the intake manifold to clean the exhaust system or the fuel injectors. If your primary concern is a check engine light related to emissions or a dirty catalytic converter, this bottle sits in the wrong reservoir entirely.
Lodoot Upgrades Engine Catalytic takes a completely different approach, focusing its energy on the exhaust system and the combustion process rather than the oil sump. This 30ml cleaner is designed to reduce hydrocarbons and support motor function by refining lubrication and exhaust circulation. The core promise is "Motor Mechanism Renewal," which involves maintaining lubrication components and cylinders to decrease energy consumption. By targeting harmful residues that affect efficiency, this product aims to keep the engine running closer to its factory specifications over time. For motorcycle owners and car drivers alike, the appeal lies in the ability to improve motor output without the hassle of major mechanical intervention or replacing lubrication fluids.
The application process is notably streamlined, requiring no motor damage or lubrication replacement. You simply add the cleaner to the energy storage unit, which implies a direct pour into the fuel tank or a similar fuel-related reservoir. This convenience makes it an attractive option for those who want to address performance issues without visiting a shop. The product supports the motor for consistent action and longevity, suggesting it helps prevent the gradual buildup of carbon deposits that can choke an engine's breathing capabilities. In hot climates, where engines often run hotter and produce more exhaust byproducts, keeping the catalytic converter clean is vital for preventing backpressure that can lead to overheating and reduced power.
This product is particularly relevant for vehicles that have accumulated significant mileage and may be suffering from minor efficiency drops due to residue buildup. It addresses the environmental aspect by ensuring cleaner exhaust, which aligns with modern emission standards. However, its utility is confined to the fuel and exhaust pathways. It does not offer the friction-reduction benefits found in oil additives, nor does it claim to fix mechanical noises coming from the valve train or lifters.
You should skip Lodoot Upgrades Engine Catalytic if your goal is to reduce engine noise or protect internal moving parts from wear. Since it operates on the principle of cleaning fuel and exhaust systems, it will not reach the pistons, rings, or bearings where friction reduction is needed to stop ticking sounds or restore compression. If your vehicle is making mechanical clunks or rattles, this cleaner will not solve the problem, as it is not designed to interact with the oil film that cushions those components.

When considering long-term ownership, the choice often depends on the age and condition of the vehicle. Older vehicles with high mileage often benefit more from the internal sealing and friction reduction of an oil additive like Hot Shot's Secret FR3. These engines frequently suffer from blow-by and low compression, issues that an oil treatment can temporarily alleviate. Conversely, newer vehicles or those primarily used for short trips might accumulate more carbon deposits in the exhaust system, making the Lodoot cleaner a valuable preventative measure to maintain peak fuel economy and meet emission requirements.
For drivers operating in extreme heat, the distinction becomes even sharper. High temperatures accelerate oil breakdown, making the anti-wear properties of Hot Shot's Secret FR3 a crucial line of defense. Simultaneously, heat can degrade catalytic converters and cause them to clog faster, making the cleaning action of Lodoot essential for maintaining proper airflow and preventing overheating of the exhaust system. Neither product replaces regular maintenance, but they serve as powerful adjuncts depending on which part of the drivetrain needs the most attention.
In my opinion, I would choose Hot Shot's Secret FR3 for the majority of drivers because it addresses the root cause of engine degradation: friction. While the Lodoot cleaner is excellent for exhaust health, the internal protection offered by an oil additive provides a broader safety net for the entire engine block, especially under the thermal stress of hot climates. Reducing friction not only saves fuel but also extends the life of the engine components themselves, which is a more impactful investment than just cleaning the exhaust. That said, if your vehicle is already running smoothly but failing an emissions test or showing signs of a clogged converter, then the Lodoot product is the specific tool you need. For overall peace of mind and comprehensive engine care, the oil additive wins out.
Yes, the product is designed to function effectively with both synthetic and conventional oils, ensuring optimal performance regardless of the base fluid you use in your engine.
The product information notes that you should just add it to the energy storage unit, but it does not explicitly recommend combining it with other cleaners, so it is safest to use it alone to avoid unknown chemical interactions.
Hot Shot's Secret FR3 claims to increase fuel economy by up to 5 percent through friction reduction, while Lodoot aims to improve efficiency by refining the combustion process and removing harmful residues.
