If you want a compact, durable adapter to charge your Samsung phone while listening to audio through a standard 3.5mm jack, choose HopePow 2; if you need a high-speed replacement cable specifically for older Beats headphones with a micro-USB port, choose Podokas USB Charger Compatible.
• HopePow 2: Its biggest strength is the dual-function design that merges fast charging with analog audio output in a single, lightweight nylon-braided dongle. The trade-off is that it is strictly limited to devices with USB-C ports and requires a 3.5mm headphone jack on the headset itself, making it useless for modern Bluetooth-only setups or side sleepers who prefer true wireless earbuds. This pick is for Android users who refuse to compromise on wired audio quality or need a reliable backup for travel.
• Podokas USB Charger Compatible: It shines by delivering rapid 10W charging speeds (5V/2A) using a specialized connector designed to fit proprietary Beats charging ports securely without slipping. Its major limitation is extreme specificity; it will not work with newer H1-chip Apple devices, Lightning ports, or any brand other than the legacy Beats lineup. This pick is for owners of older Powerbeats, Solo 3, or Studio models who have lost their original cables and need a safe, flame-retardant replacement.
The HopePow 2 is built for a very specific scenario: keeping your Samsung Galaxy device powered up while you maintain a connection to your favorite wired headphones. In my analysis of the data, the standout feature here is the integration of a USB Type-C input with simultaneous audio and power output. You are looking at a device that allows you to plug your phone into a wall charger or laptop and still hear music through a standard aux cable. This is a game-changer for anyone who relies on wired audio for latency-free gaming or superior sound fidelity but has a phone that lacks a dedicated headphone jack.
For the side sleeper, this product offers a unique advantage over many wireless alternatives. While the best wireless earbuds for side sleepers often suffer from bulk or battery anxiety, a wired setup with this adapter provides a consistent, zero-latency experience. You can lie on your side without worrying about a bulky charging brick interfering with your pillow or a wireless case running out of juice mid-movie. The nylon finish suggests durability against the wear and tear of daily tangles, and the ultra-light weight means it won't pull on your pocket or bag when carried.

However, you should skip this product if you do not own a Samsung device or any Android phone with a USB-C port that supports audio pass-through. If you are looking for a solution for a Beats headset, this adapter is completely irrelevant as it does not connect to the proprietary ports found on those devices. It is also not suitable for those seeking a "set it and forget it" wireless solution. If your primary goal is convenience above all else and you are willing to sacrifice some audio fidelity for the freedom of no wires, this wired dongle might feel like an unnecessary step compared to the best volume limiting over ear headphones or true wireless options. But for the audiophile on the go who needs a bridge between digital charging and analog sound, this is a robust tool.
The Podokas USB Charger Compatible is a precision instrument designed for one singular purpose: resurrecting the battery life of older Beats headphones that use a micro-USB charging interface. Unlike generic cables that might fail to engage the specific contacts inside a Beats charging port, this unit features a custom-shaped connector that matches the original Beats geometry. The data indicates a focus on safety and speed, boasting a 10W output that charges twice as fast as ordinary cables. This is critical for users who rely on their headphones for long commutes or workouts and cannot afford to wait hours for a slow trickle charge.
When considering this for side sleepers, the value proposition shifts from comfort to utility. While a gaming headset for side sleepers usually prioritizes cushioning and low profile, the Podokas ensures your device actually holds a charge so you can use it comfortably. There is nothing worse than waking up to find your headphones dead because you used a flimsy third-party cable that didn't make a solid connection. The aluminum alloy shell and PVC flame retardant material mentioned in the specs suggest a build quality meant to withstand the friction of being tossed in a gym bag or left on a nightstand. It protects your battery from the kind of voltage spikes that cause aging and loss of capacity over time.
You must be extremely careful before purchasing this item. It is explicitly incompatible with the newer H1 chip versions of Beats, which utilize Lightning connectors. It will not work with Studio 1, Flex, X, or Powerbeats Pro models. If you have a Beats Solo 3, Powerbeats 3, or the older Studio 2 or 3 models with the micro-USB port, this is likely the only cable you need. However, if you are looking for a universal charger or a solution for a different brand of headphones, this product will not fit your needs. It is a niche tool for a specific ecosystem, but within that ecosystem, it performs its job with high efficiency and safety standards.
• Best for Samsung Galaxy Users: Choose HopePow 2 if you own a Samsung S24, S25, or similar model and need to charge while using wired headphones.
• Best for Legacy Beats Owners: Choose Podokas USB Charger Compatible if you own a Powerbeats 3, Solo 3, or Studio 2/3 and have lost the original charging cord.
• Charging Speed Priority: Podokas wins with its dedicated 10W fast-charging protocol optimized for headphone batteries, whereas HopePow 2 focuses on passing power to the phone.
• Audio Fidelity Focus: HopePow 2 is the clear choice for those who prioritize raw, uncompressed audio transmission via a 3.5mm jack over wireless compression.
• Durability for Travel: HopePow 2's nylon braiding makes it ideal for frequent packing, while Podokas' aluminum shell offers protection against impact during active use.
• Compatibility Breadth: HopePow 2 works with a wide range of Android phones, while Podokas is strictly locked to a narrow subset of older Beats products.
• Side Sleeper Convenience: For side sleepers, HopePow 2 allows for a flexible wired setup that avoids bulk, while Podokas ensures your headphones stay charged for use during rest periods.
• Safety Features: Both products include safety chips, but Podokas specifically highlights flame-retardant materials and battery protection against aging, which is vital for expensive headphone investments.
In my opinion, the HopePow 2 is the more versatile purchase for the average North American consumer today, simply because it solves a universal problem for millions of Android users who have lost their headphone jacks. It bridges the gap between modern charging needs and traditional audio preferences, offering a sleek, lightweight solution that fits easily into a pocket or bag. However, if you are reading this because you are desperately searching for a replacement cable for your trusty old Beats, then the Podokas USB Charger Compatible is the only logical choice for you. It is a specialized tool that saves you from buying a whole new pair of headphones just because the original charger broke. Ultimately, I would choose the HopePow 2 for its broad applicability, but I recognize that for the specific user with older Beats gear, the Podokas is the indispensable hero they need.
