If you want a compact, high-speed adapter that charges your Samsung phone while letting you listen to audio through a 3.5mm jack, choose HopePow 2; if you need a long, durable charging cable for a wide range of Bluetooth speakers and headphones with Micro-USB ports, choose JMDDS USB Charger Charging.
• HopePow 2: Its biggest strength is the dual functionality of simultaneous fast charging and analog audio output in a single, ultra-lightweight dongle; its trade-off is that it is strictly limited to Samsung devices with USB-C ports and requires a specific headphone jack.
• JMDDS USB Charger Charging: Its biggest strength is the generous 5-foot cable length and robust 3A fast-charging capability designed for an extensive list of wireless speakers and older headsets; its trade-off is that it lacks the versatility to handle modern USB-C phones or provide audio passthrough.
• The HopePow 2 is the pick for travelers who need a minimal footprint solution specifically for their Samsung Galaxy smartphones during transit.
• The JMDDS USB Charger Charging is the pick for owners of JBL, Bose, Sony, or Anker wireless audio gear who prioritize reach and charging speed over port type compatibility.
The HopePow 2 adapter is engineered for a very specific scenario: keeping a Samsung smartphone powered up while maintaining a connection to wired audio. This makes it incredibly unobtrusive. You are looking at a product finished in black nylon, which suggests a level of durability against fraying that many cheap adapters lack. The package dimensions are small enough to slip into any pocket without adding bulk, measuring just 5.79 x 4.25 x 0.35 inches when packed.
This product is ideal for the frequent flyer or the daily commuter who relies on their Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26, S25 series, or the A-series models like the A17, A57, A37, A27, and A16. If you are someone who refuses to use Bluetooth for audio quality reasons or needs to conserve battery life on your phone by using a wired connection while the device charges, this is your tool. The design allows you to plug a standard 3.5mm headphone into the dongle while the USB-C end connects to your power source. It solves the problem of having one port occupied by the charger and another by the audio jack, freeing up both functions simultaneously.

However, you should skip this product if your phone does not have a USB-C port or if you do not own a Samsung device. If you are trying to use this with a non-Samsung Android phone or an iPhone, it will likely not function as intended. Furthermore, if your goal is simply to charge a speaker or a game controller, this dongle offers no value since it is designed primarily for mobile phone interaction. It is a specialized tool for a specialized user base, and its utility drops to zero outside of that narrow scope.
The JMDDS USB Charger Charging cable takes a different approach, focusing on raw utility and physical reach rather than multi-functionality. At 5 feet long, this cable offers a significant advantage over the typical short cords included with electronics. That extra length allows you to connect your power socket to a bed, sofa, or desk without being tethered to the wall outlet immediately. This feature alone makes it a superior choice for anyone who likes to relax in a living room or bedroom while their devices charge. The cable itself is round and built to handle a maximum current of 3A, which translates to faster charging times for compatible devices compared to standard 1A or 2A cables.
This product is built for the ecosystem of wireless audio enthusiasts who own brands like JBL, Beats, Bose, Sony, or Anker. The specifications confirm compatibility with a massive array of products, including JBL Soundgear, Charge, Flip, and Clip series (excluding newer models like Charge 4 or Flip 5), as well as various Bose SoundLink and Sony portable speakers. It also works with gaming controllers and consoles that still rely on the Micro-USB standard. If you are the type of person who owns multiple pieces of gear that all need to be charged at night, having a reliable, high-current cable that reaches across the room is essential. The 15-watt capacity ensures that even larger batteries in speakers or headphones get filled up quickly.
You should consider skipping this item if you are looking for a solution to charge a modern smartphone directly via USB-C or if you need to transmit audio data. The JMDDS cable is strictly a power delivery tool; it does not carry audio signals. Additionally, because it uses a Micro-USB connector, it is becoming increasingly obsolete for new mobile phones. If your primary device is a brand-new Samsung flagship or an iPhone 15/16 series, this cable will not fit. It is a fantastic accessory for legacy audio gear and gaming peripherals, but it has no role to play in modern mobile phone ecosystems where USB-C has become the universal standard.
• Best for battery life during travel: Choose HopePow 2, as it allows you to charge your phone and listen to music simultaneously, extending your listening time without draining the battery further.
• Best for room mobility: Choose JMDDS USB Charger Charging, because the 5-foot length gives you the freedom to sit comfortably away from the wall outlet while your speakers charge.
• Best for modern Samsung users: Choose HopePow 2, since it is specifically engineered for the USB-C ports found in the Galaxy S and A series.
• Best for wireless speaker owners: Choose JMDDS USB Charger Charging, given its explicit support for the Micro-USB ports on JBL, Bose, and Sony speakers.
• Best for minimalism: Choose HopePow 2, due to its incredibly light weight of 5 grams and tiny package size, making it perfect for carry-on luggage.
• Best for durability and current: Choose JMDDS USB Charger Charging, which supports up to 3A of current, ensuring faster recharge cycles for larger battery packs.
• Best for flights: If you are flying and need to keep your phone alive while watching movies on wired headphones, the HopePow 2 is the clear winner for the cabin environment.
• Best for home entertainment centers: Choose JMDDS USB Charger Charging, as the longer cord prevents tripping hazards and keeps your coffee table or bedside table clutter-free.
In my opinion, the choice between these two comes down entirely to what device you are powering. If I am packing for a flight, I would choose the HopePow 2. The ability to fast charge a Samsung phone while using wired headphones is a critical feature for long-haul travel where battery anxiety is real and airplane seats often lack convenient USB-C ports for direct phone charging. The compact design means it won't get lost in a bag, and the nylon finish adds a layer of confidence that it can survive the rigors of travel. Conversely, if I were setting up a home audio station with a collection of JBL and Bose speakers, I would grab the JMDDS USB Charger Charging cable. The 5-foot reach and 3A speed make it far more practical for a stationary setup where convenience and speed matter more than portability. Ultimately, for the specific context of air travel and personal mobile use, the HopePow 2 offers the more versatile and necessary solution.

No, the JMDDS USB Charger Charging cable uses a Micro-USB connector and is designed exclusively for older devices, wireless speakers, and gaming controllers that utilize the Micro-USB standard.
