Minimum Requirements:
At least 18 years of age
Associates degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Adaptive Fitness, Health and Physical Education or related field
2 years experience in geriatric or adaptive applied fitness
able to lift 50lb
Valid driver's license
CPR Certification (within 6 months of employment)
First Aid / AED Certification (within 6 months of employment)
10 hour OSHA General Industry Safety and Health Training
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist (CARSS)
NASM CPT or ACE Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
Bachelors degree in kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Adaptive Fitness, Health and Physical Education
2 years experience leading group fineness
2 years experience in Dance Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy
Job Responsibilities:
Stage room for accessibility and sanitize equipment before and after use
Lead safe and effective group exercise classes and workouts including (but not limited to) walking, yoga, and calisthenics
Adapt exercise and training workouts to be accommodate all skill levels and be appropriate to the needs of the individual residents
Track resident attendance and engagement (per activity)
Perform quarterly exercise program evaluations and an annual process evaluation
Submit purchase order requests for equipment as needed to the Activities Director
Report suspected side effects and adverse reactions to medications observed during facilitated exercise activities to the Supervising Director of Care and Activities Director immediately.
