Minimum Requirements:
2 years esperience as caregiver or TNA
At least 18 years of age
Valid driver's license
CPR Certification (within 6 months of employment)
First Aid / AED Certification (within 6 months of employment)
10 hour OSHA General Industry Safety and Health Training
Able to lift 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma in Nursing or CNA
Associates Degree in Health Sciences or related field
Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)
Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA)
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Certified Restorative Aide (CRA)
Job Responsibilities:
complete 16 hours of continuing education each year
complete Basic Medication Training for Staff Assisting with Self-Administration within the first sixty days of employment and complete Medication Skills Competency Determinations annually
deliver resident-centered care in accordance to the resident's individual written care plan
Help residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
Report to Supervising Director of Care any observed change in the resident's functional status
update the Medication Assistance Record (MAR) each time the medication is offered or taken
Provide assistance with meal service
Ensure that the Resident:
Receives treatments, medications and diet as prescribed.
Receives proper care to prevent pressure ulcers and contractures.
Is kept comfortable and clean.
Is treated with dignity, kindness, and consideration and respect.
Is protected from avoidable injury and infection.
Is given prompt, unhurried assistance if she or he requires help with eating.
Is given assistance, if needed, with daily hygiene, including baths, oral care.
Is given assistance with transferring when needed.
