A Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated based on your end of year grade that is on the HOPAC generated transcripts not your CIE Certificates.
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
E, F, G, U=0
Calculation: Each class is given a credit value derived from Graduation Requirements Policy. To calculate your GPA, multiply the credit value of each class by the awarded grade value (see chart above).
Example: IGCSE Biology
Grade achieved = C
Credits Earned based on HOPAC policy = 1.5
2 (for the C) x 1.5 (for the credit value)= 3.5 for this course
Now add all the results and divide by the number of credits for your GPA.
Bible, Life Skills, Service Learning, PE, and Service Emphasis Week are required for graduation but are not calculated into GPA. Attendance requirements are also necessary.
*** Disclaimer: Each university has it’s own way of calculating the GPA and will use your transcript to fit their system.***
