Bronze Star, Purple Heart

Rich was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1974 and he was awarded a Purple Heart Medal and a Bronze Star. He was the commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart - Local Chapter 181, New Jersey State Commander of the Military Order of the Heart from 1997 to 1998, and instrumental in fundraising for numerous Purple Heart monuments placed in central New Jersey.
