Arson in an office building in Daegu, South Korea at least seven dead and more than 40 injured
A fire in an office building in Daegu, South Korea, has killed at least seven people and injured more than 40 others. Police suspect a man in his 50s of arson, who was killed in the fire, and are investigating his motive for the crime.
The office building where the fire broke out continued to emit black smoke, some people stood on the platform waiting for help, while others walked up the back stairs to the rooftop.
The incident is a five-storey office building with a number of law firms in Suseong District, Daegu, South Korea.
After the fire was reported, 50 fire engines and 160 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and it took about 20 minutes to put out the fire.
The accident caused a number of deaths and injuries, South Korean media reported that the dead were found in the same office on the second floor, the injured include burns and smoke inhalation injuries, some people need to be sent to hospital treatment.
The police checked the CCTV footage, suspected a man in his 50s to a law firm arson, the suspect died on the spot, the rest of the dead include lawyers and firm staff.
The police preliminary investigation pointed out that the firm had handled cases involving the suspect, and the authorities will continue to investigate the suspect's exact motive for the crime.
