Homes Fur Hounds is a foster home based dog rescue. We do not have a shelter or a facility to house animals. We can only save lives when people open up their homes and hearts to dogs in need. When we take a dog into Homes Fur Hounds, that also opens up a space in a shelter to save another life. To date, we have rescued over 900 dogs!

Transporting animals is the crucial piece to saving dogs lives. Shelters are packed with unwanted animals and they simply do not have the space or resources to save them all. When a dog meets our criteria, they reach out to us for help. Without volunteers willing to pick dogs up from various locations to bring back to a foster home in Williamsburg, the dog would likely be euthanized.

If you have ever wanted to save lives by becoming a transport volunteer, the time is now!! You don't have to be an animal genius. You don't have to be rich. You don't have to have tons of free time. You just have to have some time, a reliable, decent sized vehicle, be over the age of 21, have a valid drivers license, and have vehicle insurance.

Share your Time and Talent: Time is valuable - do you have some to spare? You can volunteer your time by attending events, finding opportunities or using your talents to fundraise, show off your sewing talent by making items for the dogs (bandanas, collar bows, belly bands), photographing the dogs, etc.
Foster: Do you have space in your home and your heart to foster a dog in need? By opening up your home to foster, you're not only helping to save lives, you're providing the individual attention and love these dogs so desperately need. All of these things are vital for a successful transition into a new fur-ever home.
