Home Needs ("the app") is a shared shopping list app for households.
This page explains what information we collect and how it's used.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your
name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
Household and shopping data: The shopping lists, items, categories,
prices, and quantities you and your household members add.
Usage information: Who added, edited, bought, or removed each item,
and when — shown to household members so everyone can see recent
activity.
Push notification token: A device identifier used to deliver
notifications to your household members (e.g. "Partner added Milk").
Camera access: Used only to scan a QR code when joining a household.
No photos or video are stored or uploaded.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information solely to operate the app's core features:
syncing shopping lists between household members in real time, and
sending notifications when the list changes. We do not use your
information for advertising, and the app contains no ads.
WHO CAN SEE YOUR DATA
Your shopping list data is only visible to the members of your
household (typically you and one partner). It is not shared with
any other user of the app, and not shared with any third party for
marketing or advertising purposes.
Access to the app itself is restricted to a specific set of approved
accounts.
DATA STORAGE
Data is stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud
Firestore, and Firebase Cloud Messaging), Google's cloud infrastructure
for app developers. Firebase's own privacy and security practices
apply to data in transit and at rest.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Your data is retained as long as your account and household exist.
To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact
us at the email below.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Home Needs is not directed at children and is not designed for use
by children under 13.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted
on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
