🛍️ Getting Ready to Sell
With rows of golden jars lined up and labelled, the next step was sharing them with the world. To keep things simple (and professional), we set ourselves up with SumUp, a shiny new card reader, and a trusty cash tin stocked with change.
We spread the word to friends and family, and popped a little announcement onto local social media — our first ever Hollow and Hive honey was officially for sale!
💡 Did you know?
Local honey is thought to carry trace amounts of local pollen. While research is ongoing, many people believe this can help with seasonal allergies by gently exposing the body to small doses. Whether or not it’s true, one thing is certain: local honey supports bees, pollination, and the environment right on your doorstep.
✨ A Buzzing Response
The response was incredible! Friends, neighbours, family members, and curious locals all got in touch to snap up a jar. Even Luke’s barber couldn’t resist trying some.
In just the first few weeks, we sold plenty of jars and made a little over £100 — our very first honey earnings. Every pound felt like a pat on the back from the bees themselves.
There was something magical about handing over those jars — each one representing the hard work of thousands of bees (and a fair bit of human learning along the way).
🌼 What’s Next?
With our first batch sold and enjoyed, we’re excited to keep sharing our honey with more people. Every jar is a story — from swarm to spoon — and it’s been heartwarming to see so many people wanting to be part of it.
Our bees aren’t just feeding themselves now… they’re feeding the whole community. 💛🐝
