Hobble Creek West Stake Presidency
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Welcome to the year 2020!
It is once again time to review the past year and start a new one with greater enthusiasm and purpose. In this bicentennial year of the first vision and initiation of the restoration our prophet President Nelson has challenged us to read and ponder questions about its impact on our lives as we prepare for the coming General Conference. Of this preparation he said, “Select your own questions. Design your own plan. Act on any of these invitations to prepare yourself for sharing the important messages of the ongoing Restoration. As you seek Jesus Christ in these efforts, God will prepare you to receive further light. It is your personal preparation that will help April’s general conference become for you not only memorable but unforgettable. The time to act is now. This is a hinge point in the history of the Church, and your part is vital.” What a wonderful way to make so much more out of General Conference.
It is also our privilege under the direction of President M. Russell Ballard to have our first Stake conference of the year on January 25th and 26th, and we hope you will make similar efforts to prepare spiritually to receive light and revelation for you and your family. The conference will be presided over by Elder Berne S. Broadbent who is an Area Seventy. We have been working with him to make sure that the music and speakers at each session of stake conference will strengthen faith, build testimony of Jesus Christ, and be an important kick-off to President Nelson’s invitation to prepare for general conference.
Whether or not you are chosen to participate in a more public manner, please understand that your presence along with the addition of your faith and prayers will make a significant difference to the overall success of this conference. As you come prepared by faith and prayer the effects will be felt not only by you, but also by everyone in attendance. As we come together in conference in this way we cannot help but be blessed.
We look forward to hearing from Elder Broadbent as he presides at this conference. While he is on assignment, and therefore has specific things that he is instructed to share with us, he has also been working with us in an effort to understand specific needs in our stake. Together we have been praying and preparing for you individually and us as a stake family. We look forward to receiving what he has to say to us specifically, and pray for his health and mental and spiritual acuity.
We invite all to consider him in your daily prayers, as well as those who will take part at this conference. We look forward to the opportunity to gather together and that, through song and other means of expression, we might share in your combined faith, prayers, and testimony. The result will be an increase in faith, which is the power to motivate us to action to become like our Savior Jesus Christ, that when He comes, we may be like Him. Prepare now and be a part of this significant event for you personally, and for the benefit of the entire Hobble Creek West Stake family. We promise that all will be blessed by our collective preparation and participation at this conference.
Sincerely,
The Hobble Creek West Stake Presidency
