Get Involved

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities abound in Hobble Creek, and we are always open to ideas. Below are a few known opportunities for volunteer service in the neighborhood. Whether you have minutes or days to spare, there is a way for everyone in the neighborhood to get involved!

ACC Committee

The ACC reviews all applications for changes that require ACC approval. These include things like exterior paint, roofing, fencing, remodeling, and landscape changes. At this time, all reviews occur over email.

Board Service

The board should contain at a minimum persons to act in the role of President, Secretary, and Treasurer. A full board provides more volunteer power to direct spending and plan for the future.

Capital Reserve Committee

It would be prudent to undertake a capital reserve study to assess the remaining life for all assets which belong to the Hobble Creek Community. Persons with expertise in landscape architecture, irrigation/canal maintenance, masonry and finance would be very helpful in helping us complete a Capital Reserve Study.

Communication

The Board seeks to improve communication with the neighborhood and is making several efforts to that end. All are volunteer efforts, and additional involvement is needed.

  • Write a community newsletter
  • Maintain community website

Community Events

Hobble Creek commonly hosts the following events each year:

  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • 4th of July Parade
  • Neighborhood Night Out

If you are interested in leading or volunteering at one of these events, or proposing new events, this can be a fun way to get to know your neighbors.

Irrigation Maintenance

Hobble Creek has been incredibly fortunate to have its irrigation infrastructure managed by a volunteer for many years. Without volunteers, the cost to pay for this service will impact dues significantly. Tasks include:

  • Turning off and on irrigation any time it is needed
  • Inspecting irrigation and making recommendations to landscape crew to ensure turf health
  • Maintaining the irrigation pump
  • Communicating the status of irrigation failures

We are always in need of members that can offer expertise and assistance when it comes to irrigation

Landscape Maintenance

In the past, volunteers have assisted with landscape maintenance in the following ways:

  • Planting spring flowers at the entrances
  • Hanging and removing Christmas lights
  • Executing valuable landscape projects

We are always in need of members that can offer expertise and assistance when it comes to maintaining the common areas, and believe the neighborhood could really benefit from having a committee of volunteers dedicated to this cause.

Welcome Committee

In the past there was a committee to welcome new neighbors to Hobble Creek. We think this is a great idea, and would love to see it happen again!
