If you want a truly invisible, all-day open-ring experience for travel and awareness, choose Hmusic A24; if you need advanced AI translation features and a massive battery life with a smart charging case, choose JKNKCO NE70.
• Hmusic A24: Strengths include its ultra-lightweight open-ring design and 18-hour continuous playtime; the trade-off is it lacks in-ear isolation and has a shorter total runtime compared to cases with massive storage. Best for: Travelers who prioritize comfort and environmental awareness on airplanes or outdoors.
• JKNKCO NE70: Strengths feature its unique LCD touch screen case, 60-hour total battery life, and built-in 165-language AI translation; the trade-off is the semi-in-ear design may feel less secure than clips for some during vigorous activity. Best for: Frequent international travelers or commuters who need real-time language assistance.
The Hmusic A24 is engineered for a specific type of user: someone who needs their audio gear to disappear completely. The defining characteristic here is the open-ring design. Unlike traditional earbuds that seal off your ear canal, this model sits lightly on the outer ear using flexible TPE material. This isn't just a style choice; it fundamentally changes how you interact with your surroundings. If you are trying to find the best comfortable earbuds for airplane use, where you might be sitting next to a crying child or needing to hear the flight attendant clearly without removing headphones, this design is a game-changer. At roughly 5.4 grams per bud, the weight is negligible. You can wear them for hours without the fatigue that plagues heavier, in-ear models.
Its technical foundation supports this lifestyle focus. The device runs on Bluetooth 6.0, ensuring a stable connection with low latency, which is crucial when watching movies or video calls on a plane. It also supports dual-device connection, meaning you can seamlessly switch between your phone and laptop without unpairing. This is ideal for the modern traveler who manages work and entertainment simultaneously. The touch controls are straightforward, allowing you to manage volume, playback, and calls with simple taps on the clip panel. However, because it is an open design, it does not offer active noise cancellation in the traditional sense. You will hear the hum of the engine, but you will also hear everything else around you.

You should buy the Hmusic A24 if your priority is situational awareness and physical comfort over long durations. It is perfect for gym sessions, outdoor runs, or office work where you need to remain present. Conversely, if you are looking for the best voice assistant clip on earbuds for airplane use specifically to block out cabin noise, this might not be the right tool. The open structure lets sound in, so it won't silence the jet engines. But if you value the ability to keep your ears "open" while listening to podcasts or music, this is the superior choice. The 18-hour average battery life is substantial enough for most long-haul flights, though you will need to charge the case once a day if you use it heavily.
The JKNKCO NE70 takes a different approach entirely. It is a semi-in-ear bud designed to fit naturally into the ear contours while offering a significantly longer total battery life through its charging case. The standout feature here is undoubtedly the integration of AI translation capabilities. With support for 165 languages, these earbuds act as a bridge for cross-language communication. While they require the dedicated "AuraIntelli" app and a data connection to function, the fact that there are no monthly subscription fees makes them incredibly accessible for casual travelers. If you often find yourself traveling to places where language barriers exist, this product solves a problem that standard audio gear cannot.
Battery performance is another major selling point. While the buds themselves offer 4 to 6 hours of playback, the charging case extends this to a staggering 60 hours total. This is a significant advantage over the Hmusic A24 for anyone embarking on multi-day trips where charging opportunities might be scarce. The case itself is a piece of technology, featuring an LCD touch screen that allows you to control music, calls, and settings directly from the box. This level of interface control is rare in the budget-friendly segment. The earbuds are made of ABS material and come with a detachable lanyard, adding a layer of security against loss—a practical detail for busy commuters.
However, the semi-in-ear design introduces a different set of trade-offs. While ergonomic, they do sit deeper in the ear than the Hmusic A24's open ring. For some users, this might feel slightly more intrusive after many hours of wear. Additionally, the translation feature relies heavily on network connectivity; offline translation is not supported. If you are in an area with poor signal, the translation utility vanishes, leaving you with standard audio playback. The IPX5 rating ensures they can handle sweat and light rain, making them suitable for sports, but the focus remains on communication and extended usage rather than pure isolation.
• Best for Battery Life → JKNKCO NE70 with a total of 60 hours including the case, versus the Hmusic A24's 18-hour single-bud runtime.
• Best for Situational Awareness → Hmusic A24 due to its open-ring design that keeps you connected to your environment.
• Best for Language Translation → JKNKCO NE70 offers 165-language AI support, a feature the Hmusic A24 simply does not have.
• Best for All-Day Comfort (Open Ear) → Hmusic A24 with its 5.4g weight and soft TPE clip-on structure.
• Best for Smart Case Features → JKNKCO NE70 includes a unique LCD touch screen on the charging case for direct control.
• Best for Dual Device Switching → Hmusic A24 explicitly supports seamless switching between two devices like phones and laptops.
• Best for Sports Durability → Tie, both offer IPX5 ratings, but the JKNKCO comes with a lanyard for extra safety.
• Best Value for Communication Needs → JKNKCO NE70 provides translation tools at no subscription cost.
In my opinion, the choice comes down to whether you need a tool to help you communicate or a tool to help you listen. I would buy the JKNKCO NE70 if my primary goal was international travel where speaking to locals is essential; the 60-hour battery and translation capabilities make it a powerful companion for navigating new cities. However, for the specific use case of being for airplane travel where you want to stay alert to announcements and enjoy music without blocking out the world, I recommend the Hmusic A24. Its lightweight, open-ring design is unmatched for maintaining comfort and awareness during long flights, making it the better pick for the discerning traveler who values freedom over heavy isolation.
Neither product offers active noise cancellation that blocks external sounds completely. The Hmusic A24 is open-ear by design, letting sound in, while the JKNKCO NE70 is semi-in-ear. Both allow you to hear announcements clearly, which is safer for air travel.
No, there are no monthly subscriptions or hidden fees. The 165-language translation function is free to use after downloading the dedicated app and connecting to a data source, though it does not work offline.
The Hmusic A24 offers up to 18 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, whereas the JKNKCO NE70 buds provide 4 to 6 hours per charge before needing a top-up from the case.
Yes, the Hmusic A24 is specifically noted as suitable for glass wearers due to its open-ring clip-on design, which avoids pressure points behind the ear. The JKNKCO NE70 is semi-in-ear and generally fits well, but individual comfort with glasses varies.
