Mohammad Muntasir Hassan

Assistant Professor, IICT, BUET

Currently I am pursuing PhD in Electrical Engineering at Caltech and previously served as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) (now on leave). I obtained my B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2019 and currently pursuing my M.Sc. degree in the same department.

My research interest is to investigate ultrafast and non-linear optical phenomena at the nanoscale and explore novel photonic structures and quantum devices. I have research experience in the areas of photon management in photonic crystals, biosensing using high-Q optical resonators, nanowire based broadband absorbers, first-principle DFT study and semi-transparent solar cells.

I have served as a Treasurer of IEEE Electron Devices Society and Solid-State Circuits Society Bangladesh Joint Chapter and an active member of IEEE Photonics Society.
