We are so excited to welcome your students to HMS for the first day of school tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Here are a few notes to help make the day as successful as possible!
Students DO NOT need their instruments or supplies on the first day. We will let them know when to bring them and make sure they know where they can store them during the day before they do!
If any student has a schedule problem (wrong band period, etc.), we will record it on the first day. While the counselors are not accepting these kinds of requests from students, we will try to help get this resolved as quickly as possible.
Supplies
All HMS band students will need a three-ring binder for the first few months of school. Students can begin bringing this binder when they bring their instrument.
On Tuesday, August 25, we welcome all HMS band family members to join us in the HMS band hall for a quick informational meeting about all things band this school year. This includes a breakdown of band fees, important dates, and an official meet-and-greet of the ENTIRE new band staff, as Mrs. Stephens will be back from maternity leave.

We must have band forms on file for students traveling later this semester and for delivering their band t-shirt once they arrive.

Private lessons are a chance for your student to study one-on-one with a professional on their instrument.

Include your student's name, parent/guardian's name, and parent/guardian's email address.
We will respond within 48 hours with next steps to get signed up and scheduled.
LESSONS can begin immediately and continue year-round.
