WELCOME PEACOCK CLASS
We have had a joyous start to the Autumn Term. Welcome to Peacock Class, our new Reception children, who have settled in so well. We have a number of new staff and more new children joining the rest of the school too. We are pleased that Herbert Morrison is such a popular school. The Friends of Herbert Morrison will be holding a welcome morning event on Friday 15th September at 9am. Please come and join us to welcome new Friends to the Herbert Morrison Family.
Thank you to all the staff, parents and children who have given me such a warm welcome back. Mrs Peake - Headteacher

CONCRETE NEWS
We have received this information from Lambeth regarding RAAC.
'Following alerts that Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) has been found in school buildings across the country Lambeth Council is continuing to work with local schools to assess the scale of the issue in our borough and ensure necessary steps are taken to ensure pupil safety.
In response to the recent news article relating to the use of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC). Lambeth Council has reviewed the asset information held for Herbert Morrison Primary School against the Dfe guidance, and it has been concluded that your school does not meet the criteria as outlined within stage 1a. Therefore there is no requirement to carry out a survey at this time.'
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
STAY SMART ONLINE
Ask your child what SMART means for online safety. In assembly we started to look at this and we will focus on one letter a week. Next week is S. Please speak to your child about online safety and this poster is a good starting point. Find out what they already know about staying safe online - you will be impressed!
Year 1 told me what personal information was and Year 6 told me to beware of fake news.
