I'm a linguist whose interests lie primarily in Syntax and Morphology, although I also take a keen interest in phonology. The Bantu languages of Sub-Saharan Africa hold the number one spot in my linguist heart, but I believe that it's important to draw on a wide range of language families when looking at cross-linguistic patterns. I recently defended my PhD dissertation at Rutgers University, and am teaching at the University of Delaware in Spring 2023.
Here are some projects I'm currently working on:
The introduction and thematic-licensing of external arguments
What by-phrases reveal about Japanese passives
When I'm not thinking about linguistics (and sometimes, even when I am). I 'm thinking about surrounding myself with greenery - either in the form of acquiring a new pot plant to make up for my lack of garden, or by going for a hike in some nearby hills/mountains - preferably ones with lots of trees!
