I am a researcher in applied electromagnetics (EM), currently working as a postdoctoral scholar with Prof. Mark Cappelli at the Stanford Plasma Physics Laboratory (SPPL), working on an AFOSR-sponsored MURI project on topological electromagnetics. My research spans topological wave phenomena, wave–matter interactions in time-varying media, and reconfigurable/nonreciprocal RF and microwave devices. My work combines rigorous theory, computational modeling, and experimental validation to study how anisotropy, gyrotropy, and temporal modulation shape electromagnetic wave behavior. While plasmas serve as an important testbed, the underlying principles extend to a wide range of engineered electromagnetic materials.
I completed the Stanford Ignite Full-Time Certificate program in innovation and entrepreneurship at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Before my postdoc, I worked as an RF/antenna engineer at Facebook Reality Labs, focused on antenna design for AR/VR.
I earned my PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah under Prof. David Schurig, with research spanning real-time beamforming for arbitrary antenna arrays, FMCW radar for smart helmets in risky sports such as American Football, omnidirectional retroreflectors, and wireless power transfer for implantable medical devices (with Prof. Cynthia Furse). Before my Ph.D., I earned M.Sc. degrees in communications and electromagnetics, including research on electromagnetic invisibility and elliptical metasurfaces with Prof. Alexander Yakovlev at the University of Mississippi.
