We are a Zen Buddhist community in the White Plum Tradition practicing in Annapolis, Maryland. Ours is a growing Sangha, having first gathered in January of 2025.
We gather together to practice Zazen (sitting meditation), Kinhin (walking meditation), to receive authentic Buddhist teachings, and to support each other along the path. No experience necessary. All are welcome.

Kūhai Radice, Sensei
A Buddhist practitioner for about 25 years, Kūhai Sensei is Lay Zen Teacher in the White Plum Asanga and a member of the Lay Zen Teachers Association. Prior to studying under his teacher, Jingen Sensei, Kūhai was a longtime student of Lama Purbu Tashi Rinpoche in the Kagyu tradition of Vajrayana (Tibetan) Buddhism. His teachings emphasize the commonalities between the various Buddhist schools while maintaining traditional Soto Zen forms of practice.
We gather together to practice in the Shrine Room-turned-Zendo at the Gampopa Center in Annapolis, MD. The Gampopa Center is a Vajrayana community practicing in the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism and the practice space reflects the beautiful imagery and iconography of this tradition. Practicing traditional Soto Zen forms in a Kagyu space is a wonderfully rare opportunity.
