These are the accompaniment recordings that can be used to rehearse the lines from the book we use in class.
For most tracks, the line is played twice. The first time includes both the melody and the accompaniment. The second time is just the accompaniment.
So - get your book out, and practice through a song several times until it is fluent, with good tone, accurate rhythms and the correct pitches.
Songs you learned in Term One - but love to play
This version of the song was published in America in 1907 - but the earliest recorded version of this songs is from an opera called The Kingdom of the Birds, 1706, by Thomas D'Urfey:
In the Fields in Frost and Snows,
Watching late and early;
There I keep my Father's Cows,
There I Milk 'em Yearly:
Booing here, Booing there,
Here a Boo, there a Boo, every where a Boo,
We defy all Care and Strife,
In a Charming Country-Life.
Originally written sometime between 1905-1912, “Low Bridge! – Everybody Down” (subtitled “Fifteen Years on the Erie Canal”) was composed by Thomas S. Allen (1876-1919) The song makes reference to how the bridges over the Canal were low - so when you went under them on horse or boat, you needed to get low to avoid being hit.
