Hives Helping Heroes

Welcome to Hives Helping Heroes.

Hives Helping Heroes was initiated by Gold Coast Regional Beekeepers to focus on a healthy transition from service for our heroes and beekeeping.

Many of the heroes in our society, veterans and emergency services personnel,  find it difficult to cope following the harrowing experiences they have had keeping our community safe.

Hives Helping Heroes aims to assist these heroes in dealing with mental health issues and difficulty in coping, through building relationships for them in their local communities.

Particpating clubs include Gold Coast Regional Beekeepers and Ipswich and West Moreton Beekeepers.

Hives Helping Heroes is a  project managed by the Gold Coast Regional Beekeepers Inc, and is proudly sponsored by Flow Hives and Veterans Support Group Men's shed Nerang.

The Flow team have donated 20 bee suits, 20 veils, 20 pairs of leather beekeeping gloves and 10 hive tools with pouches for our Heroes.  This extremely generous donation will set up our heroes for a great, low cost start to beekeeping.  Thanks Flow Team for your awesome donation.

The Gold Coast Regional Beekeepers respectfully  acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we meet, work, and keep bees, and we pay our respect to their elders past and present, and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
