Innocent Muhozi entered the world of journalism when Burundi's national radio station was preparing to launch its television channel, becoming Radio-Télévision Nationale du Burundi (RTNB). He began his career as a production assistant and ended it almost 20 years later as the Director General of RTNB. In 2003, he founded Radio Renaissance, which became Télé Renaissance in 2007. In 2015, Télé Renaissance was attacked and its equipment destroyed after the attempted coup on May 13th. Innocent Muhozi fled to Rwanda, where he continued to work online for Télé Renaissance. In 2021, unable to continue working in Rwanda, Innocent Muhozi moved to Belgium.
