Warranty- means a formal guarantee from the manufacturer (or sometimes the seller) that the product will work as intended for a specific period of time.
Types of warranty
- Express Warranty- This is the written or spoken promise made by the manufacturer or seller. Example: "1-year warranty on parts and labor" written in the warranty card or manual.
It clearly states what is covered, how long, and under what conditions.
- Implied Warranty- This is an unwritten, automatic guarantee that the product will work as it is supposed to. It’s based on the idea that when you buy an appliance, it should at least function for its normal purpose.
Example: If you buy a refrigerator, it should keep food cold even if there’s no written warranty card saying so.
How to calculate The Basic Warranty Period for an individual Product:
from the date of the Original Customer’s purchase of the Product from a reseller as evidenced by the proof of purchase provided by Customer (e.g. receipt or invoice) indicating the date of purchase, or
if Customer is unable to provide a satisfactory proof of purchase of the Original Customer’s purchase of the Product, from the date 120 days after the manufacturing date of the Product, or
from such later date that Customer can prove through an installation or acceptance report subject to verification by Hisense.
Any repair or replacement will not extend the original Basic Warranty Period, and the Basic Warranty in respect of a repaired or replaced item shall only be valid for the remainder of the original Basic Warranty Period for the repaired/replaced Product.
How to calculate Depreciation Ratio:
Within the validity period of the Basic Warranty, if the customer is unwilling to swap or repair and requests a refund, then shall return the goods and charge a depreciation fee for the used goods. The depreciation cost shall be calculated from the date of invoice issuance to the date of return, and the time occupied for repair and waiting for repair shall be deducted.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
Not covered by the warranty: defects caused by the following:
Mechanical damage: caused by the customer or reseller/seller when transporting or handling or using the product. Such as shock, scratches, pressure or break points, etc.
accidents:
caused by the usage environment
fire, flood/water, lightning or other acts of nature;
failure or variations in the electrical power supply or circuits;
electrostatic discharge.
EXTENDED WARRANTIES
In addition to the Basic Warranty, Hisense provides customers with paid extended warranty period services. For the avoidance of doubt, it must be separately ordered and paid for by Customer from Hisense (or, if applicable, from designated Hisense partners).
Hisense is not responsible for extended warranty commitments given by the reseller/seller.
If the customer considers warranty extensions, it must be within 11 months of the product purchase.
Extended Warranty cannot be transferred between two Hisense subsidiaries.
It can usually increase the warranty period up to a total of 5 years.
