Hiroaki Murakami (村上 弘晃)
is a Project Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, and a member of the Kawahara Laboratory. His research interests lie in ubiquitous computing and sensor networks, with a particular focus on indoor localization, smart environments, and mobile sensing. He aims to develop systems that seamlessly integrate digital technology into physical spaces to enrich everyday experiences.

He received his Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology from Hokkaido University in 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Masanori Sugimoto. He also earned his B.E. and M.E. degrees from Hokkaido University in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

His work has been recognized with several honors, including the Best Paper Award at IEEE IPIN 2024 and the IPSJ Outstanding Paper Award from the Journal of Information Processing Society of Japan.
