First, calling a beat a type beat is just an SEO (search engine optimization) strategy. It doesn't have to affect the creative process whatsoever. You could make the most original beat known to mankind. But when it comes time to upload it to YouTube, you ask yourself who you could hear on it or how you would describe it.

Why? You want to use the same terminology (i.e., keywords) artists are searching for so that your beat has a chance of being discovered. Chances are nobody is searching for your producer name, at least not yet. But tons of people are searching for a "21 Savage type beat" or "dark trap type beat." So, if you have half a brain, you will pick ways to describe your beat that artists are searching for.

Of course, you want to be mindful of keyword competition, and those are just examples, but my point is that using keywords of that nature doesn't mean your beat is a ripoff of some other producer's style. You may not have even had any rapper or producer in mind when you made it. Again, it's all about SEO and discoverability. I've even seen producers use keywords like "unique boom bap type beat." Even when they weren't quite sure how to describe it, they still called it a "type beat."

If you're not using the term "type beat" when uploading to YouTube, you're shooting yourself in the foot. You essentially have pride in not being findable. It's silly. Who cares how you describe a beat? It doesn't suddenly make an instrumental soulless or derivative when you put "type beat" in the title. It's still the same beat.

For these reasons, if you think a beat has no soul or feeling, it has nothing to do with the fact that it says "type beat" in the title. Stop the hate for type beats and type beat producers because, in reality, they're just producers, and type beats are just beats. If you want to make a "me type beat," that's all good, but you need to find a better way to describe it if you want anyone to hear it.

Tl;dr: Labeling a beat a "type beat" is just an SEO strategy that helps your beats get discovered. It doesn't have to affect the creative process at all. You could make the most unique beat ever created and still call it a type beat. Why have pride in not being findable? And even if you strive to make a beat for a particular artist, so what? That's a common songwriting technique, and many great artists have tried to emulate their influences. Ultimately, it will still sound like you because you created it. Remember: If you don't like a beat, it has nothing to do with the producer putting "type beat" in the title.

I was looking at the beatstars "opportunities" section and I feel so sad, let me explain better. I don't feel any hate emotions for all the producers that make type beats, but I'm very disheartened, compare this to selling my productions. I think the market is completely saturated with manufacturers churning out copied beats, and I don't doubt that platforms like Beatstars (which I also use) push on this type of production because obviously, they sell more, but where is the creativity in all of this?

I have a friend that produces only type beats, like drake, MGK, Lil Pump, and others, and although his productions (in my taste and opinion) are not that great, he manages to sell much more, although he almost always uses the same sounds. He knows my opinions about this and I'm really happy that he can make some money from this (and I'm also happy if anyone makes some bucks from the type beats) but :C

I was wondering if there was anyone who has experience with their own type beat channel and could give me some advice on how to get started. Below I have some questions that you might be able to answer.

I can't lie, I get annoyed at myself for using artist name tags for all of my beats. Like I know that's what everyone does but I wanna prioritize artistry first, salesmanship second. It just feels mad unauthentic titling all of my beats after artists even if it gets me sales occasionally. I'm sure I can't be the only one feeling this way.

For example, if you create great type beats in the style of Lil Baby, you may be able to come up on SoundCloud when users search for his music, quickly building your fan base. Another artist looking for Lil Baby could discover your beat and put it in their next track.

Beat marketplaces are another obvious source for type beats. These services host beats and profiles to help artists and producers connect. They all include search engines that let you easily search for type beats that reflect your target artist.

Sure you could use the 808s that came stock in your DAW, but consider putting some time into tweaking them to get the sound you want. Most producers (including the ones you might be making a type beat for) use a ton of sound design techniques to get interesting, punchy, and booming 808s.

Programming synths is tough, but there are certain types of patches that pop up often in certain genres. A lot of producers gravitate towards software synths like Massive and FM8 from Native Instruments.

Ive been rapping for a good year now, getting better everyday, and have started to feel held back by the type beats on youtube apart from the occasional gem (likely already exclusively bought). Where are people finding consistent high quality beats?

I understand people hate when people are not original but for me putting type beat in your title really help get you recognized especially if you do it right. This my last type beat and I don't really think its that unoriginal. And for my channel size its getting a decent amount of view. If you think otherwise let me know. What are YOUR thoughts on type beats???

50 days ago on April 11th I started a type beat channel on YouTube to promote my beats. I am a multi-genre producer and so earlier on in my time making beats, I made a mock channel posting different types of stuff but saw no substantial growth. Didn't really care at first because I was just doing what I wanted for fun but eventually saw the growth potential from many different YouTubers and decided to get serious about it. All the most successful type beat producers like Ant Chamberlain, Dillygotitbumpin, Omito, DJ Pain 1 and many more etc. said to pick a niche and stay consistent. Although I did not want to limit myself, the niche I decided to pick was mostly Drake type beats. This is because he is a very versatile artist and so I would still have some freedom to make what I wanted to while still being niched down as it were.

My goal was to try and upload a beat every single day for 50 days at 2 pm EST just because that was (and still is) probably the best time for me to do so schedule wise. However, to date I have 44 vids / beats out instead of 50. The reason for this is honestly just life. Sometimes I have time. Other times I really don't. Posted later than 2 a lot of the time just because I was still working. And even when I do have the time, some days I just get bad beatblock and can't make anything for the life of me.

Add a unique ID to the plugin configuration. If no ID is specified, Logstash will generate one.It is strongly recommended to set this ID in your configuration. This is particularly usefulwhen you have two or more plugins of the same type, for example, if you have 2 beats inputs.Adding a named ID in this case will help in monitoring Logstash when using the monitoring APIs.

If you try to set a type on an event that already has one (forexample when you send an event from a shipper to an indexer) thena new input will not override the existing type. A type set atthe shipper stays with that event for its life evenwhen sent to another Logstash server.
