Hima Rawal

My name is Hima Rawal and I am from Nepal. I am a doctoral candidate in Second Language Studies at Michigan State University. I work under the guidance of Dr. Peter DeCosta.

I received my MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Michigan State University under a Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship. Prior to Michigan State University, I received my MEd and BEd in English Education from Tribhuvan University in Nepal.

My dissertation research focuses on teaching English language learners in mainstream classes in K-12 settings. My research interests include humanizing pedagogies and research in linguistically diverse educational settings, learner and teacher emotions, and language teacher professional development.
