Hills Lab

Computation @ UNE

Research in the laboratory of Ron Hills at the University of New England - Portland Campus involves the development and application of multiscale simulation techniques to study the function of cell membrane proteins. We are also involved in pharmacy education with an emphasis in nutrition.

  • Two student positions are available for the 2019 NSF REU Summer Research Fellowship in Molecular Modeling. This final year of the program is 10 weeks in duration and comes with a $5,000 stipend.

Lab Research Areas

  • Development of multiscale and coarse-grained models for protein assemblies
  • Lipid-protein membrane interactions and protein conformational change
  • Cellular multidrug resistance mediated by ABC transporters
