hijaiapp ("we", "our", or "app") is an educational application designed to help users learn, practice, and evaluate Arabic/Hijaiyah handwriting, pronunciation, and reading. We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our app handles user data.
2. Zero Data Collection & 100% On-Device Processing
hijaiapp operates entirely offline and on-device:
- We do NOT collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.
- We do NOT require user registration, accounts, or logins.
- We do NOT use third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or advertisements.
3. Device Permissions & Usage
To provide interactive educational features, the app requests the following device permissions:
- Camera: Used solely for real-time scanning and optical character recognition (OCR) of handwritten Hijaiyah letters. Camera frames are processed in real-time in memory via Apple's Vision and CoreML frameworks and are never saved or transmitted.
- Microphone: Used solely for real-time voice recognition and pronunciation analysis via Apple's SoundAnalysis framework. Audio streams are analyzed live in memory and are never recorded, saved, or uploaded.
- Photos Library: Used only when you explicitly select an image from your photo library to translate. The image is processed locally on your device.
4. Local Data Storage
Game statistics, quiz history, and challenge scores are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is completely deleted if you uninstall the app.
5. On-Device AI & Intelligence
All artificial intelligence evaluations, including computer vision, audio classification, and local large language model (LLM) tutoring, run 100% locally on your device hardware (Metal/Apple Silicon). No prompts, images, or audio are ever sent to external cloud servers.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our application is safe for all ages, including children. We do not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13, in strict compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR.
