Lost in the shuffle of the ever-growing High School Musical phenomenon -- growing so big, it can no longer be contained on the Disney Channel, it's now reaching theaters for its third and final installment -- is that the tween-sensation is actually a musical. Which means that despite its pop trappings, the soundtracks consist of full-blown show tunes, songs that serve the story and are sung by the rotating cast. This helps make the movies work, but it sentences the soundtracks to be mere souvenirs of the event, a record for fans to play endlessly, not a means to crossover to a wider pop audience. On HSM3, there are only two songs that stand out as potential pop singles, both not so coincidentally solo showcases for the franchise's two biggest stars, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron. Hudgens has the album's best song in the slickly soulful "Walk Away" -- a tune that would have shown up Wilson Phillips circa 1990 -- that she sings better than Efron, whose "Scream" struts like *NSYNC circa 2000. But both are upstaged by stage brat Ashley Tisdale, who shows far more on-record charisma on her fame-hungry showcase "I Want It All," a song that has absolutely no chance of making sense outside of the senior skip-day plot line of High School Musical 3, but Tisdale performs with ingratiating vigor, using every chop she's learned as a stage kid. Of course, those very strengths are well-suited for a musical like High School Musical 3, where the songs are vehicles for showboating performances either on the screen or in a fan's bedroom -- and for those fans, this set, which is similar in every way to its two predecessors, will not disappoint.

So we cut to song #6: Just wanna be with you, which is the song Troy/Gabby get for the musical. Why are there so many love songs so far? Well, this one is alright, and once again more memorable than the first two film/s love numbers. This one is even kind of catchy. But come on, the non-love songs have been awesome! More of those, please?

You know, the combination of ideas might be - I love that that was sort of living there. And that hit me hard because when I was in high school, I had to make a choice between sport and theater and I just - I couldn't believe it because I felt that it was the two ideas that completed me. And I loved that this played on, you know, sort of supporting the idea of kids to have an imagination about themselves and about their potential.

NORRIS: Well, it was - but he didn't choose. You know, well, you'll see in High School Musical 3, I mean he comes up to that choice. That choice is his big choice. For me, I remember my high school days and there was definitely some of Troy there, but there was also some of Ryan. I was overly enthusiastic, you know, about putting on shows. It was, you know, I was driven. I saw "West Side Story" as a 16-year-old kid and, you know, I became obsessed. I wanted to be George Chakiris. I was, you know, Bernardo in my dreams and in life. I went off and pegged a pair of black pants and dyed my dad's white shirt immediately after I saw "West Side Story."

As the only film in the series to be released in theaters, High School Musical 3 had a large budget that allowed it to create bigger musical numbers than its predecessors. This list will rank all the songs in the film.

The bop is colorful and collaborative with the entire cast getting in on the action. With enchanting sets, rhythmic music, and story-like lyrics, this musical number helps build anticipation and highlights the best of every character. Put more simply, it's a lot of fun.

Disney music may not be for everyone, but for me, Disney speaks to my soul. Most importantly Troy and Gabriella's voices. One of my all-time favorite Disney movies is the third and final "High School Musical" movie. "High School Musical 3" is the end of every high schooler's journey, but with music. Embedded within each song, however, is an emotion that speaks to anyone's souls. They are catchy and my go-to for almost any emotion I am feeling. There is an emotion I feel when listening specifically to these nine songs, maybe you can agree.

This song is filled with up beats and talk about a future beyond High school musical and all it has accomplished. In the movie, the choreography consists of human rollercoasters, tossing of caps, and poppin' and lockin'. It is the perfect celebration song for any occasion or rocking that good mood.

While these are my 25 favorites, there are quite literally 1000s that could have been included. The Beatles' body of work is massive and there is something for everyone. If you have been living under a rock and haven't discovered the Fab Four, you have to get musically educated. Stream them on Spotify, find them on iTunes or even buy a CD or record (Yes, those still exist!). I would suggest starting with 1, which is a collection of most of their #1 songs, or the 1968 White Album. Give them chance and you'll never look back.

Every student is in the same position as you are. They registered for more classes than they want to take and are "shopping." For the first couple of weeks, you can drop or add classes as you please, which means that classes that were once full will have spaces. If you keep attending class and keep up with assignments, odds are that you will have priority. Professors give preference to people who need the class for a major and then from higher to lower class year (senior to freshman).

High School Musical is a singalong film made in 2006 following the love story of two high school juniors. The main interests are Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens). The story begins when they meet on New Year's Eve as they both happen to be at the same karaoke holiday party.

Over the school year, they meet friends and foes, like Sharpay Evans played by Ashley Tisdale, the queen of East High who has her own feelings for Troy Bolton and aims to be the leading role in the school play.

After a successful release of the first film, the series was granted two sequels; High School Musical 2 was released the following year in 2007 and follows the same characters as they face new challenges in their relationship and their academic careers. This film takes place in the summertime, when Troy, Gabriella and all of their friends are out of school for the season.

All three movies in the High School Musical franchise were filmed in Salt Lake City, Utah. Believe it or not, East High School is a real place and is where most of the filming process took place in the first and third movies. For fans of the movies, this high school is iconic, from the red accents in the Wildcats' home gymnasium to the bright pink double locker belonging to Sharpay.

Take a stroll in the neighborhood that Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez lived in, or visit the auditorium where they started their musical career. Make sure that you bring a copy of all the songs so you can sing along as you visit the location of each High School Musical film scene.

Disney's High School Musical phenomenon leaps onto the silver screen in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. America's favorite high school students hit senior year. Amidst a basketball championship, prom and a big spring musical featuring all of the Wildcats, Troy and Gabriella vow to make every moment last as their lifelong college dreams put the future of their relationship in question.

At 18, Bolton would have either been wrapping up senior year or he'd be playing college hoops already. Still, since Efron is only one or two years older than his character, it makes the performance pretty believable.

When Troy and Gabriella return to school from winter break, they audition for the school musical and find themselves struggling to attend callbacks for the lead roles while Troy juggles basketball and Gabriella juggles East High's Scholastic Decathlon Team.

Like most of the junior class, Sharpay is also 16 or 17 years old. Throughout the first film, Sharpay and her brother, Ryan, attempt to sabotage Troy and Gabriella's chance to attend callbacks. The twins have worked their entire lives to star as leads in a musical and feel the roles are being stolen from them.

Beyond these personal or selfish reasons, I have broader reasons for using Western art music, and these have to do with my students' scholarly needs. To begin with, they should be prepared for the standardized tests they are required to take during their senior year. All of the music students at the school where I teach take the M-FAT, the major field assessment test, which we use internally to gauge the effectiveness of our music curriculum. Music education students who intend to teach in the state where I live, Missouri, must also take the PRAXIS-II test. Both these tests include many questions dealing with the forms and procedures, the terms and the analysis of Western art music. As long as my students take these tests, I will continue to teach this repertoire. Were I to do otherwise, I would be shirking my responsibilities by delivering something other than what my students (or their parents) paid for.

When she started at Fairview High School, she joined the choir to continue her musical and artistic passions. When she was 15, she won an opportunity through the eTown Handmade Songs Series program for highschool songwriters to have her song professionally recorded, which was a big opportunity and influence on her career. 0852c4b9a8
