is the perfect app for you!

HiFive is a social app that allows users to initiate group activities with people nearby—in real-time.

Want to meet new people while doing an activity you're all interested in? Attending an event and want to find people to travel there with? Want to try a new restaurant, but need people to split the price of a meal with? Use HiFive to initiate an activity and find people nearby to join you!


What makes us special?

Unlike your typical social media app, Hi!Five is intended to help users make face-to-face connections in real-time. Activities must be initiated at most 12 hours before they're set to begin to reduce the chance of mind-changing. Users are able to remain anonymous for their own safety, and only need to provide a description of themselves when meeting up so other users can spot them. Aside from this, all information (other than the activity location and description) will be kept private.


  • Activity-Based (less feed scrolling, more human interaction)

  • Real Time (activities must start within 12 hours)

  • User Privacy (the only user data collected is emails and event locations)

How to use Hi!Five

Sign-In:

  1. Use your gmail account or Apple ID to sign in

  2. Create a nickname for yourself (all accounts are anonymous)

Hosts:

  1. Create an activity/event by clicking the purple plus sign

  2. Enter event details

    • Name (something related to the activity you'll be doing)

    • Description (you can also include the type of attendees you're looking for)

    • Location description (the location that other users see will be your current location when you create the event. You can use this field to further describe your surroundings)

    • Number of attendees

    • Event Duration (your event will only be visible to other users for the duration you set)

    • Event start time (all events must start within 12 hours)

    • Self-description (provide a good description of yourself so that users can recognize you)

  3. Wait for someone to join your event!

Guests:

  1. Search on the map for an activity/event you're interested in

  2. Click on the activity/event

  3. Provide a good description of yourself so the host can recognize you

  4. Head to the activity/event location at the start time!

To edit the distance of the events you can join:

  1. Click on "Distance"

  2. Type in the distance in meters
