Who we are
Amnon Dekel, PhD
Amnon Dekel is the Executive Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Hebrew University Jerusalem. Previously, Amnon served as the Chair of the Software Engineering Department at the Shenkar College of Engineering & Design in Israel. Amnon has over 20 years of experience in product development of IT based services and applications, as well as more than 15 years of experience in Applied Research in the areas of User Experience and Mobile Computing. Amnon has participated in founding 3 companies in the area of video sharing, personal networking and indoor navigation. Amnon has received numerous international awards, including a Pulitzer nomination for his work with the New York Times. When he has time, he partakes in creating technology based art, and his work has been funded by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Ayelet Cohen is the Deputy Director of HUJI-Innovate. Prior to this, she served as the director of Jerusalem activities at Start-Up Nation Central, leading a strategic project to develop the Jerusalem tech ecosystem and establish collaboration between Multinational Corporations, investors, startups, academic institutions and the government. Ayelet also co-founded and managed Google Educators' Groups and Google Teacher Academy in Israel. In addition to her work – she founded and leads several social initiatives such as Dada, 30ish and #53poems. Ayelet has a BA from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, majoring in Jewish History and Political Science.
Operations and Community
After growing up in Toronto, Keshet came to Israel for a gap year. Immediately after, she packed all of her belongings, left the Great White North and made Aliya. She spent her first year here in Sherut Leumi working at a school for kids with special needs. Afterwards, Keshet completed her B.A in Communications and Sociology at Bar Ilan University.
After getting married she moved to Jerusalem. She has enjoyed every minute in this vibrant city and is in love with the diversity and culture it has to offer. For the past year, she is has been managing the community outreach and operations at Siftech and has now joined the HUJI Innovate team as well!
Israel Lean Launchpad Program Manager
Neta holds a BA (hons) in Amirim Interdisciplinary Excellence Program and International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford, and is also a graduate of the executive education program of the Harvard Kennedy School.
Neta has diverse experience in the fields of innovation, community building, business development and social Entrepreneurship. Neta is currently managing Israel Lean Launchpad - an innovative acceleration program founded by the Hebrew University, Merage Institute, Startup Nation Central & The Jerusalem Development Authority.
