Quotients of HHGs

at the University of Bristol

A one-day hybrid conference dedicated to discussing recent advancements in the study of quotients of hierarchically hyperbolic groups

The aim of this one-day conference is to bring together young researchers to study recent trends in geometric group theory. Specifically, quotients of hierarchically hyperbolic groups have been classically studied in the context of small cancellation theory, random groups, and Dehn filling. Generalizing beyond hyperbolic and relatively hyperbolic groups requires developing tools from geometry, topology, combinatorics, and probability. Participants will be introduced to recent techniques used to prove when hierarchical hyperbolicity is inherited by certain quotients.
