What is the library's summer reading program?
The library's summer reading program helps kids keep reading by:
1. Offering fun, free, educational events for all ages (check out the schedule of activities here .
2. Showing the importance of books by awarding prizes for reading (being read to or listening to an audiobook count too!). Read at least 20 hours to enter the grand prize drawing! Adults, we have a summer reading program for you too! Learn more here.
3. Making learning FUN! No matter what your child is interested in, we have books, performances, and activities they'll love.

Of families who have participated in our summer reading program before, 82% say that after the program, their child spent more time reading , 69% said their child enjoyed reading more, and 65% said their child had become a better reader!
Summer reading is fun!
The library has in-person and virtual activities for all ages planned throughout the summer! Test your animal knowledge, watch a musical performance from award-winning entertainers, or meet live animals! Come to one, or do them all! Check out the full schedule of summer events on our website.
