Our Programs
Partner with licensed counselors to offer structured mental health support alongside physical farming. The grounding nature of working with soil, nurturing living things, and working in a quiet, natural environment is incredibly effective for managing PTSD, anxiety, and transition stress.
Growing the food is only half the battle. Introduce a program that teaches nutritional literacy and culinary skills. Veterans can learn how to cook healthy, budget-friendly meals using the farm's yield, which opens up career pathways in the culinary and hospitality industries.
Current Programs in Development Stage:
Teaching our students the business side of agriculture by turning raw harvests into artisanal goods. Think organic hot sauces, herbal teas, jams, or soaps. Selling these at local markets creates a sustainable revenue stream for the non-profit while teaching retail, marketing, and supply chain skills.
In the process of designing- hosted weekend workshops open to the public (e.g., "Intro to Composting" or "Backyard Gardening") led by Teachers and the veterans themselves. This builds public awareness, generates ticket revenue, and positions your veterans as the local experts they are, boosting confidence and community reintegration.
Agriculture is becoming increasingly tech-driven. We are in the process of introducing a program focusing on modern AgTech—such as drone mapping for crop health and smart automated irrigation systems. This equips veterans with high-tech, high-paying skills for the modern job market.
Transitioning to civilian life can be challenging, but you don't have to navigate it alone. At Harvest for Heroes Farm, we offer veterans a new kind of deployment: one focused on growth, healing, and practical skill-building.
Whether you are looking to build a career in modern agriculture or simply need a grounding environment to reconnect and recharge, there is a place for you in our fields.
Our training programs are hands-on, physically engaging, and designed to equip you with real-world skills. When you join the farm, you will get experience in:
Sustainable Agriculture: Soil health, organic crop management, and daily farm operations.
Modern AgTech: Working with smart irrigation systems and drone crop mapping.
Value-Added Skills: Turning raw harvests into market-ready products, and learning farm-to-table culinary basics.
Community: Working alongside fellow veterans who understand where you’ve been and are focused on where you’re going.
Veterans of all branches and eras.
No prior farming experience is necessary. We will teach you everything you need to know, from seed to harvest.
Veterans seeking a structured, supportive environment to learn trade skills, manage transition stress, or simply find peace in hard, honest work.
Note: We utilize adaptive equipment and modifications to ensure veterans with service-related injuries or physical limitations can fully participate.
Getting started is simple. We want to get to know you, your goals, and how the farm can best support your journey.
Step 1: Submit Your Application Tell us a bit about your service, your current goals, and why you are interested in agriculture. Well will contact you with 48 hours with an application.
Step 2: The Farm Tour & Chat Once we review your application, we’ll invite you out to the ranch. This isn't a formal job interview—it’s a chance for you to walk the fields, see the equipment, meet the crew, and decide if this environment is right for you.
Step 3: Orientation & Getting Your Hands Dirty If it’s a good fit, we’ll get you set up with your gear, safety training, and an orientation schedule. Then, it's time to get to work.
