HexLift is a Chrome extension that helps designers and developers pick colors, scan page palettes, check contrast, and export design tokens from the active webpage.
HexLift may process website content from the active tab when you choose to use a color scan, CSS scan, or contrast audit feature. This can include visible page pixels, CSS color values, text color/background color pairs, and related page color information needed to provide the extension's color and contrast tools.
HexLift also stores local extension preferences and saved workspace data, including:
Theme preference.
Recent colors.
Saved brand kits.
Whether the one-time sponsor strip has already been shown.
HexLift does not collect, sell, or transfer:
Personally identifiable information.
Health information.
Financial or payment information.
Authentication information.
Personal communications.
Location data.
Web browsing history.
Keystrokes, mouse movement, scroll tracking, or other behavioral user activity.
Website content is processed only to provide user-facing color features, including picking colors, scanning palettes, reading CSS colors, checking contrast, highlighting contrast issues, and exporting design tokens.
Local extension data is used only to keep HexLift useful between sessions, such as remembering your theme, recent colors, saved kits, and sponsor-strip display state.
HexLift processes scan and audit results locally in your browser. HexLift does not upload webpage content, color palettes, contrast results, browsing history, or saved brand kits to a remote server.
Stored preferences and saved color data are kept in the browser's local extension storage. You can remove this data by clearing the extension's stored data, clearing recent colors inside the extension where available, or uninstalling the extension.
HexLift does not sell user data. HexLift does not transfer user data to third parties. HexLift does not use or transfer user data for advertising, retargeting, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
HexLift may show one static sponsor strip inside the extension interface after first use. The sponsor strip is not personalized based on browsing history, page content, scanned colors, or user behavior. HexLift stores only whether the sponsor strip has already been shown so it does not appear repeatedly.
If you click a sponsor link, you may leave the extension and visit an external website. That website is governed by its own privacy policy.
HexLift does not load or execute remote code. The extension's JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and image assets are included in the extension package.
HexLift uses Chrome permissions only for its color and design audit features:
activeTab: Allows HexLift to access the current tab only after you click a scan or audit action.
scripting: Allows HexLift to run a user-triggered local script on the active tab to read colors and contrast information.
sidePanel: Allows HexLift to provide a persistent color workspace in Chrome's side panel.
storage: Allows HexLift to save local preferences, recent colors, saved kits, and sponsor-strip display state.
HexLift's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
This policy may be updated if HexLift's features or data practices change. Any material changes will be reflected in the Chrome Web Store listing and in the effective date above.
